November 23, 20241 yr For every 1 person who says it works great, there seems to be 100 complaints. For all the problems 2020 had four years ago, it was never as bad as what I’m reading today. Yes, there have been other game titles with poor launches but with the massive audience MSFS has, it must sting for Microsoft. I do appreciate all the reviews and comments. I hope Asobo can get this turned around quick so buyers are not waiting years for a decent product. (Disclosure: I did not buy 2024 nor will I buy anytime soon.)

There is momentarily no substitution, so I leave it to some free roaming/test flights for now. Dedicated flights with actual routes in FS2020 only for now. Yes this matches exactly how 2020 began. AI aircraft just doing nothing or whatever they want and not interacting at all with the sim or you. 2020 is a heck of a sim and 2024 has miles to go before it even catches up to where 2020 is.

November 23, 20241 yr Luckily I only paid a month of GamePass. I'll try to make my controller assignments work. If, after the month I paid expires,I can't manage to do so reliably, I'll try again next southern winter (summer for you guys up north). But I'm sure I'll follow its development status. That's the same thing I did for 2020: tried it on day 1, uninstalled, and didn't come back until SU5 and a new rig. I'll miss the A330, looks like it's the best one available for all MS/LM sims. November 23, 20241 yr If you didn't see my other post, try duplicating the 2 main profiles (General & Airplanes)... Kept asking me to create new profiles until I duplicated both on a fresh start. I still have the original old ones in there, but I don't use them. I just named these 2 Globalxxxxx That worked, since then it's not forcing me to create new assignments for every plane I fly, it's applied globally. Msfs2020 was absolutely groundbreaking when it released even with its share of issues. Nothing even close to it had been done before so it was understandable that there were issues. Fs2024 is just a buggy version of 2020 with a few tweaks and features added like seasons, and a few cloud and ground/flight model tweaks that 2020 should have gotten. When they first announced ms2024 I said straight away it was going to be large patch to get some bucks over the chrismas holidays. I also said numerous times that when the servers constantly buckled on weekends in the summer school holidays (and they just ignored it and carried on) that ms2024 relying on the same servers was going to be a disaster. Finally when i banged on about that L1 door on the 787 that was a simple fix, again ignored as they couldnt be bothered it highlighted where the priorities were, money and profit. The point wasnt about the door persay, it highlighted the inabilty to get asabo and WT together to fix a simple issues. 4 years later, nothing. I agree with the numerous youtube vidoes on this, that the gaming community and all the simping that goes with it, has been the downfall of good quality games over the last 10 years. We simply put up with junk, not only that, we embrace it, welcome it and pay to beta test it, like its some cult you cant critise or question You reap what you sow.

November 23, 20241 yr It's very difficult for me to say what I think... I had uninstalled / quit FS 2020 long ago and was waiting for this FS 2024. Saw the Dev Q&As, got the impression major changes had taken place regarding ground physics and some aspects of flight dynamics too... Well, after all we know regarding day1 launch quirks, and I myself being able to properly start the sim and play it 2 days after release, my experience is positive regarding: - Default Scenery (looks better / more detailed and accurate in areas I know well from RL); - Weather looks better, although effects wise I haven't yet had the chance to properly evaluate it; - Flight dynamics were a big deception with the first few props aircraft and glider I tried, which came with Standard version, but i have already been able to test other props which felt a bit better. Overall it looks like they added some "feel of inertia" to all aircraft (?). I can't say I like the way aircraft feel in FS 2024, just as I didn't in FS 2020, but other than that they're nice to play with... - Haven't had the chance to try Missions and / or Career yet... - Haven't had the chance to fly a full flight in the 330 or 321, but I am really looking fwd into it. Yesterday I ended up my sim session of the day uninstalling FS 2024, planning to do a clean reinstall today, which I did early in the morning, using this turn around the MS Store installer instead of going through xBox PC App. It looks like it didn't mess around with the folders that bad... Well, still wanting to keep trying different aircraft, the helis and the airliners, the Missions / Challenges and starting a Career... But overall, reinstalling and / or going back to FS 2020 is completely out of consideration for me. Angry? Nah, I’ve been doing this since the mid 90’s and I haven’t seen a bigger train wreck than this, all could have been avoided if they planned this properly and they didn’t, so someone needs to be accountable for this.
