Sound cuts off and stutter

Featured Replies

Has anybody noticed their sim sounds cutting out during flights and a stutter would happen around that time also?

  • This is caused by short term main thread saturation. I believe that it is caused by the loading of terrain tiles and photogrammetry because the sim must quickly goto the network, download the new data

  • 200 is unfortunately very high in my opinion. Add in a complex aircraft and it's just inevitable that stutters will occur regardless of how strong the hardware setup is. FPS may be good and stable tho

  • Have you tried an external DAC? I use headphones with an external DAC/AMP and have never had any sound problems.

Sorry. This is in 24

I was seeing this (hearing this?) too. But, since the last update and switching 'limit aircraft sounds' back on, not at all.

Check that you have limit sounds checked in the options, maybe.

Yeah I did have my limit sounds on when I was having that issue. I went ahead and updated my sound drivers just to make sure I can rule  that out.  I'll check again here shortly and see

I used to have sound cut off. I'm not sure what fixed it last 2024 patch or driver updates but seems sound problems are gone now

I have it now and then, with a brief cpu spike and often preceding a ctd.

Turned off game mode in Windows 11 and the issue seems to have gone away

I've had a bit of intermittent sound issues in 2024, yes. I'll try turning off game mode. But that's not really recommended by AMD (re: my CPU)

I’m having the same issue. Slight stutters with the audio pops/cut outs and sometimes everything will be smooth and I still get a stutter. I’ve tried everything. I’m using 7800x3d and 4080. Mobo was x670e-e from asus. Switched to b850 steel legend from asrock hoping to get rid of the popping and cutting out. Same thing so I now ordered and 9800x3d. lol I’m desperate to try and fix this. I’ve reset my pc multiple times and tried so many drivers. Very frustrating

Hi, I'm not sure if this helps, but I've noticed a correlation between this issue and the presence of uninstalled Windows updates.
After installing the updates and restarting, the problem seems to disappear, although it sometimes reappears randomly.
I hope this information is helpful.

I have this issue also with FS24 this only really started with me after I upgraded from a intel CPU to an AMD 9800X3D. I'm also using external sound via USB headset. I've also tried onboard sound but have the same issue. Also I get the CPU spike at the exact same time as the stuttering and the sound crackling.  I've searched for this issue online and most who mention it seem to have AMD CPUs but I can't nail down the exact cause.

This only happens with FS24. Doesn't happen in FS 2020 or anything else running on the same PC.
