I dont know the update, but you should wait an other year to hope most critical bugs are out the game so it is somehow playable and probably have a working AI Traffic at this time because a Flightsimulator with no working AI Traffic is not realy a Flightsimulator - IMO !

cheers 😉

Nah, it needs an update done well not done quick.

Remember what happened to 2020 when all the updates where produced to a time schedule and then the same with the far too early release of the 2024 bugfest

The crux is: FS24 needs an excellent update really quick: In the current state not only the userbase goes south day by day - 3rd party devs also are turning away. Every pro coder has to make money - atm the scene (also the freeware community) has nearly stopped. This can't go on for months.

In the end it's - as usual - simply a question of supply and demand.

There is no urgency having 2020, especially if you look at it as a flight simulator, this is the conclusion I have reached after a few days of use, logically everyone will have their own opinion.

This, I can feel that the “extended user base” are turning away… and us hard core simmers are staying.

As I said in a post late last year, I understand from a business perspective but I also don’t. Asobo are in the middle here.. and I truely get it ( been in business since 2014).

But one thing they forgot is financially, it’s the new comers and “xbox crowd” as they call them, that gave them the numbers to bring MSFS into the lime light.

In saying that, as others have mentioned, I don’t think the problems are big enough to stop playing it or going back to 2020. But yes it does need updates.

Sim Update 1 is planned for Q1 of 2025. Beyond that, I don’t recall Jorg or the MSFS team giving a more updated timeline on when SU1 is coming out. I would like to also know if they gave a more specific date other than Q1 of 2025.

I flew a lot this weekend. Had some amazing flights. Totally issue free from start to finish. Also a few more good addons became available and I added quite a bit to my Community folder.

Could it do with an update or ten? Of course. I am looking forward to the next few weeks and months of improvements from Asobo and the third party developers. Is it currently unusable as you would think from reading some of the posts here? Not at all. Would I swap it for the MSFS2020 I had in November? Not a chance. I'm very much enjoying the ride and never expected it to be perfect from day one.

It needs several and quickly imo. The management accountants at Microsoft will surely be on the blower to Jorge soon;

"Where's the income you were projecting for December?!"

However, there must be something wrong with me as despite the plentiful bugs the more I fly it, the more I enjoy it.

Hopefully we’ll get some communication shortly on next steps for updates and fixes now that the holidays are over.

I’m generally having a good time with FS24 but I know a lot aren’t and that’s shown by the user numbers from Steam.  I can’t imagine having the marketplace not available in 24 over Christmas made anyone happy either.

Even though it’s my preferred sim, I’m eager for updates especially around the SDK to allow all devs to get their products into 2024 and to the third party aircraft, many of which aren’t really usable right now.  Even one of the best ones IMHO, the C-17, has a bunch of pending updates and fixes just waiting for the Asobo update cycle.

Until they start beta testing updates, updates will probably break things, like happened with 2020.

AI Traffic actually reappeared on my end although I still get error message window about it, so hot fix for that would me most appreciated at least!

P.S I got couple updates on Xbox authenticator, not sure if that contributed to traffic partial appear

You said "userbase goes south day by day - 3rd party devs are turning away...".  I'm curious where south is and what the options are in the south ... P3D, X-Plane, Aerofly, DCS... ? 🙂

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

He is talking about the exodus back to 2020, with users that got fed up with an Alpha program they  have paid good money to test.
