This should also alleviate your LS issue, no? It should help indeed but the interface isn't as nice and it's missing various options (like the taxi map and the colored buttons that recap the last things ATC told you to do). Besides (not a problem for Bob), you can't make the text in that interface smaller in MSFS2024 and so it's always very big and ugly. But yeah, it's an option!

January 16, 20251 yr Author So it seems like the days of raw grunt and HW tuning are over, even with the new 5090 series. Get used to the idea of DLSS, Frame Generation, FSR, Lossless Scaling becoming the way of the future https://www.techradar.com/computing/gpu/nvidia-releases-stats-that-prove-dlss-and-frame-generation-are-here-to-stay-sorry-angry-gamers Nvidia releases stats that prove DLSS and Frame Generation are here to stay - sorry, angry gamers The pure raster gains from the 4090 to a 5090 are expected to be in the 15-30% range. So if you get 40 FPS naturally without DLSS with a 4090 you should get ~ 8-10 FPS more with a 5090 using raster gains only. If you compare a 5070 to a 4090 without DLSS4 the 4090 should still be the better card. I was reading an article today that said in 4K gaming even the 5090 in raster mode alone couldn't maintain consistent 60 FPS. So pure HW grunt and tuning is not the future, AI rendering clearly is... Edit: Link for reference: https://www.laptopmag.com/laptops/gaming-laptops-pcs/nvidia-rtx-5090-4k-dlss-4-gaming Quote When it comes to pure gaming power, the RTX 5090 flagship GPU still can't quite gaming at 4K on Max graphics presets. On Star Wars: Outlaws, Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth: Wukong, and Alan Wake 2 the 5090 still can't break that 60 fps (frames per second) gaming threshold for playability. Granted, you can get away with playing these games at 30 fps, but in any game with gunfights, you'll want to opt for higher framerates whenever possible. That's where DLSS 4 comes in. With the latest iteration of Nvidia's frame generation technology, you'll be able to game in 4K with frame rates over 200 fps. Of course, you're relying on software performance to generate all of those additional frames rather than pure silicon, and not all games offer DLSS 4 support. So much for this all being some sort of Hokus Pokus Magic Potion... Looks like I will be sticking with my 4090 and DLSS4 even without the Multi Frame Generation of DLSS4 in the 5k series Edited January 16, 20251 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
January 16, 20251 yr Using an earlier version of Lossless Scaling, I too had problems moving my mouse to the 2nd screen. I found a forum thread on Steam which helped. It said to do this: "Add LosslessScaling.exe to NVIDIA control panel / app then change "Vulkan/OpenGL present method" to "Prefer layer on DXGI Swapchain" I have noticed that in the new GUI for the latest version of Lossless Scaling, there is a "Multi-display Mode" switch, which I have set to "On" This seems to have removed the need for the NVIDIA Control Panel entry I mentioned above and I can still move my mouse freely between both screens and access BATC on the 2nd.

January 16, 20251 yr In NCP, you have global settings and program settings. You add LosslessScaling.exe to the program settings window. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. January 16, 20251 yr "Multi-display Mode" switch, which I have set to On" I tried that just now. It makes things more normal when for instance opening and closing MSFS windows, like the ATC window or the EFB. It works more like when not using LS. If the top bar on the ATC window is black, then I'm getting around 120 fps. If I make it white, I'm getting 160 fps when using LS. DLSS quality, render presets Ultra but both LOD's turned down to 140 instead of 200. There are very few stutters with this high LS mode of 4X. My monitor is set to 120 Hertz. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
