New Version of Lossless Scaling

Featured Replies

Introduced LSFG 3.0 which on my system thus far is simply incredible.  The DLSS ghosting is improved, artifacting is much better but not gone and I've never seen MSFS this smooth and "fast" and by fast I mean it genuinely feels like AI, Clouds, wingflex is all happening much quicker giving a great immersion and sense of speed.  As for textures they are crystal clear to the horizon.

As always, YMMV but for me this is a good step up.

In practise the minimum base of 30 fps seems to be a bit of a myth for me at least. I can run the sim at 20 fps and either double or treble that rate with lossless scaling and it still works absolutel

  • I switched it on today in the PMDG 777, at KATL, my FPS was around 24 at the airport, and with it on I got around 45 fps, and smooth.

Hello all, I made a lossless settings guide over at the XP12 forums if anyone wants to look at it, I know its aimed at XP12 but  the settings within lossless scaling should apply to MSFS as well, just

I’ve switch for my last 2 flights. I now run at 40 fps cap, LSFG x3 , DLSS Quality, Beyond Atc, AutoFps and I get a solid 120 FPS now every where I tried ( inibuild egll, klax ,…), turned off freesync. VRAM usage much lower then with native FG and GPU usage equivalent. Can t wait for DLSS 4.0 drivers/ patches to get rid of ghosting now.

Is this of any use with a full official Gsync monitor...?

Wow! Thanks for the heads up @psolk. Really smooth on my aging system. Switching between 2 monitors has been much improved and I see that the UI has been updated.

My monitor is GSync compatible but I have it enabled in the driver, monitor and Lossless and it's simply the smoothest experience I can get in FS...

A bit unrelated, but I was able to test the new version in FS2004 (yes, I meant FS9). Since I'm currently with my laptop (which uses an iGPU), I have to watch carefully the CPU  temperatures. I found they were 5 degrees Celsius lower with the new version. That's a big improvement for me. I can't wait to get back to my main rig next week, to see the effect of the new version with MSFS.

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

YES it is superb with Gsync.

I have an ASUS PG279Q with hardware Gsync and it works perfectly - with my lame CPU I lock at 19 fps with RTSS and set 4X frame gen with LSFG giving me 76 fps. Gsync happily syncs refresh to 76 Hz, and instantly syncs to whatever fps I get when it drops a bit in really demanding situations - like PMDG 737 at IniBuilds EGLL with a bunch of traffic injected by PSXT/RT. It really is great especially with Gsync and when also using the FPS app by Reset XPDR that controls TLOD and OLOD. With my CPU I would never be able to run the settings I run without LSFG and Reset XPDR FPS app.

I haven't tried LSFG 3.0 yet but I'm anxious to see what improvements they've made reducing artifacts. I'm using an extremely low locked fps setting and the highest frame gen setting in LSFG and I do get some artifacts when panning with TrackIR, but really only when panning so I accept that for the tradeoff of super fluid, stutter free fps...and unless I get into really demanding situations that strain my system my frametimes are a solid straight line (hence perfect smoothness with no stutters).

Well I tried LSFG 3.0 and unfortunately it causes some strobing, I would say minor, but it is annoying. I switched back to 2.3 and strobing is gone. It's unfortunate because performance is better and there are fewer artifacts with 3.0. I don't know if the strobing with 3.0 is related to Gsync or not, but it doesn't matter because I will NOT be switching off Gsync. GRR such a shame.

I tried it and went back to Optiscaler. For some reasons, with my config the LS frame generation system is choppy and stuttery.
