I totally agree - last update it received was sound update which in my opinion made no difference whatsoever with the immersion as the major bugs are still there. At the moment SIDS and STARS for some of the airports are incorrectly drawn, can't fly accurate holdings and auto throttle struggles to maintain airspeed on ILS... list goes on. 

The plane is currently sitting in my hanger - I only fly it these days when I want to do some cargo runs but even that is superseded by A300 from inibuilds. Last time I flew MD11 was back in November. 

Don’t know about soulless but annoying that a simple quality of life patch for saving navigraph login hasn’t been done.  Even freeware models have this.

Same experience - I bid an APL line for FedEx in the MD11 and found myself skipping or substituting with the A300 when I could (which I took a break from after a few bad patches). The nav issues are annoying, the autothrottle chasing speed is both annoying and disorienting, just seems like this addon is stuck in some sort of development hell. 

I want to like it, the $70 or whatever I spent really wants to like it, but I don't. 

Ouch wasn't expecting it to be that bad. I guess I'll scratch that from my list forever. The 777F does the job, as does the A300F.

I thought I am the only one with the auto throttle problem. It feels like on approach, the airplane is not managing the speed and keeps chasing it up and down. I have the latest update as well

I won't necessarily say it's soulless.  When I fly it, I can feel the weight and sluggishness of an older airplane.  The DEV has definitely been slow in rolling out updates no matter how "big" the next update is supposed to be...which means some things that work are going to break.

I think DEVs do not do themselves any favors when they release a beta/early access of their product.  That initial release is extremely important and when an add-on has so many open ended issues, no matter how many updates are released the user is always going to find the airplane broken and less than adequate.  Users/customers also expect quick, solid, successive updates and when those don't arrive, people remember and blacklist.  It feels like the DEV stole a customers money.  

 I really want to like the MD-11 but TFDi has rubbed me the wrong way with this product.  I don't regret my purchase but probably won't buy from them again.

On a separate note, I find it...interesting some like the A-300 over the MD-11.  The A-300 feels cheap.  I hate that there isn't a pause at TOD either with that airplane.  I won't be going near the A-350 if they don't have it.  

Oh, quickly, back to the MD-11.  I never update it.  I always do a clean install.  You should also find all the extra MD-11 files installed and delete them too.  Always a fresh install with the MD-11.  I do that too for the A-300.

Probably the worst msfs purchase I made. This plane is pretty much useless in VR. I for one am sorry I bought it. If you use VR like I do just do your homework before you buy it.

VR propably is not the first thing to be developed for this addon. I'm glad instead i purchased CE-version, what a ride it has been 😎 And there is more coming with every update, maybe the vr-compatibility in some stage too.

VR-wise, aside from the mouse pointer not in sync between left and right cameras and no in-EFB keyboard, it works fine for me. 
 

glad they finally fixed the navigraph login issue. It is a very good model of the md11.

Seems a lot of fixes indeed, the negative feedback is fair enough but if the update addresses them I won't write this one off just yet either.

Really need someone with the ability to compare against its previous state to put it to the test next.
Hopefully A330 driver will do a video with his thoughts on the updated plane given he's done so in the past.

Great timing, Looking forward to testing this tonight , Yesterday I did flight into Dublin & missed the ILS because of the bug above & ended up landing in my mothers back garden .....she was not impressed 🙂

 

As someone who is always around the MD11, I’m willing to try the plane whenever it’s ported to 2024.

They working on the FADEC, should be in the next update, as this seems a bigger thing it take some time..

I'll pick it up and give it a shot again, but it feels like this was a bug fix we would've expected earlier in the EA cycle. Making airplanes is extremely tough, but I was a day 1 purchaser of the 717 and I felt I was taken for a ride on that one (still banned from their Discord lol), this is feeling similar where the product gets much needed polish, because it didn't work, but never really improves or develops new features. 

I guess for $70, EA with testers having the plane a few months in advance, and it being their second airliner project after the 717 which has the same avionics suite, I would've expected a more robust pace of development. Just a disappointment I guess, I regret spending the money.
