I tried again using drone mode. I cannot duplicate taxi signs popping in or out as I approach them or pass.

So you don't see the low object LOD in airports then?

  • I had to see for my own eyes!  TLOD is vastly improved.  Flying in the sim looks like flying for real again!  (Even though real simmers prefer their scenery to look like minecraft!) You can see p

  • Don’t normally bother with hassle of a beta but as the release version feels like a huge beta anyway I don’t suppose there’s much to lose.

I'm not a fan of the beta's as they do seem to create issues sometimes so I will have to wait for the SU1 release to pass accurate judgement because in total honesty and this is just me but nothing I have seen in the screenshots here seem so overwhelming...  I saw the reactions and was expecting something simply mind blowing or ground breaking then I watched the video in the other thread and looked at the screenshots here and can't quite figure out the excitement.

Try it .. the videos don't do it justice with the compression and the stuttering.  Just fire it up for yourself and give it a go.

looks like they got the scenery back up to 2020 standards 👍

You have to be joking with that statement?

My local airport is pretty much closed, EGNT, due to the wind. I just tested the new MSFS 24 sim update beta, I was able to take off and land. I tried the same flight in XP12 and couldn't get off the ground without being ragged all over the place due to gusts. (with a baron GA aircraft)

What turbulence setting are you using in MSFS?

I have tried several airports in the Midlands, UK and I had a tough time taking off or landing at any of them.

It does look sharper on my system although still seeing the occasional "melted" structure but not enough to ruin the immersion.

Just look at that sunset through the clouds!

As real as it gets! (for a picture simulator at least).

I feel bad for people that cannot see the visual improvement - not in the videos, on their own screen. The sim may be buggy as hell in every other way (it's not, but it does have issues of course, this isn't magic), but visually this is absolutely amazing.

I’m hearing that the 777 is working now in the beta

I didn't see this either at CYYZ and EDDF. Will check again later. But it looks good to me. Is there an airport where it always happens for you (default scenery, not third-party)? I can do a video for you if you have an area you really want to check out.

Hello guys, is anyone else having a similar problem?

I don't get a loading bar in the start screen unless I click on the screen several times. Then the performance is significantly worse, almost 20 FPS less. All of my content from the community folder has been deactivated and needs to be reactivated individually

Great! Now you can use that money to do something that makes you happy. Glad you didn't waste your money.

“Working.” You can load the plane in and flip some switches, but that’s about it.

More people fly career mode than people use the tobii.

Numbers ? source ? people just like to come here and say things out of the blue 🤣

And lets say you are right, Tobii is a core feature not content.

I don't often do low and slow in a biplane but they look great and also looked incredibly smooth.

I used to be mostly GA, low and slow.  These days I am enjoying The Fenix A320, Inibuilds A300-600R and the Just flight RJ.  These improvements in terrain and textures really add to the fidelity during landing / take off, but also while in the cruise.

The Ants Airplanes is a favourite of mine when exploring at low level 🙂

Was mostly doing GA in my initial use of 2024 too (especially bush flying).. but ya with the 2024 versions of the Fenix A320 and ini A300 the flight dynamics and ground handling improvements alone have me using them in 2024 way more than 2020. Add to that 2024's visual fidelity superiority over 2020 and it's a no brainer for me, despite the bugs/annoyances.
