I'm not trying to convert anyone who doesnt' like 2024, please feel free to ignore this and do whatever makes you happy. Not looking to discuss ad nauseam, you do you, play whatever sim you like. But for those of us who are in the Beta, the new textures are quite something else aren't they? And this is globally, I've tried all over the world and it's simply stunning. I was NOT expecting this from SU1. what am I missing here, why are people so utterly blown away by having good textures? this should be the absolute minimum you're expecting surely? or is it that they are very superior to 2020 that is what is so impressive? surely the issue here is that they released a sim with appalling texture blurring issues and have just raised it to the base level everyone expected when paying $200? why weren't you expecting this from SU1? should've been in the RC, let alone SU1

I select custom rain conditions and the I see the rain on the ground hitting the puddles, but the cockpit windshield there is no rain. My windshield effects are set to high. I had Inibuild a330 selected. I installed the new SU 1 beta too. The weather seems to be messed up in 2024. 2020 doesn’t have that problem. Yup same problem here - found a work around - load rain preset - pull the low level cloud slider UP to make more clouds - top layer cloud setting pull that DOWN to make more clouds No need to touch mid level clouds tab - doesnt do anything after you do what I state Dont just move them you have to turn on that tab to make more of the clouds - it should work but theres a fine line has to very overcast to make rain - no in between for the most part - like sun showers - doesn't exist in sim as far as I know Edited January 24, 20251 yr by Richard Sennett Rich Sennett

You must remember that textures are the most important thing in a FLIGHT SIMULATOR. How could anyone fly without the correct textures? The number of arguments I've had with professional flying instructors about the number of trees and textures we'll experience during our flight, well I could count them on at least three hands. I had to cancel my flight last night in MS2024 as there was a tree on a rock in the sea. I can't fly with graphics like that. Bring back FS98! 😜 (PS...Loving MS2024!) January 24, 20251 yr My experience with the beta in VR : more stuttering, and textures on the ground have a strange moving border around the cockpit outside (with and without DLSS4) WIthout beta and with DLSS4 very sharp, smooth, and no texture issues. We are all aware of the fact MSFS 2024 was released in a state which was, mildly put, 'below par'. So why bring this up again in a thread which is about actual improvements? Have you tried the SU1 beta? Also, how hard is it to focus on the positive for once folks? Really... January 24, 20251 yr PG still has bugs, LEMU and surroundings still looks like a jungle but this is the first version I can see my eleven-storey building in alicante has reduced the size of the trees in the city to something normal. The fps have dropped 1/3 as a negative note.
January 24, 20251 yr I fired it back up to test it. Weather is unrealistic. Ground textures are much better. Not blurred anymore. LOD is still awful in airports. Third party airports have an issue with bleed through textures. Seems a little smoother but could be placebo. Not sure about FPS, I didn't check. Is it going in the right direction? It has no choice. Still a couple of SU's away from being what the majority of people are after I would imagine.

If I tried that in real life down at my local airport at present, I would probably be dead within 10 mins.

January 24, 20251 yr I'm not a fan of the beta's as they do seem to create issues sometimes so I will have to wait for the SU1 release to pass accurate judgement because in total honesty and this is just me but nothing I have seen in the screenshots here seem so overwhelming... I saw the reactions and was expecting something simply mind blowing or ground breaking then I watched the video in the other thread and looked at the screenshots here and can't quite figure out the excitement.
