So why bring this up again in a thread which is about actual improvements? Have you tried the SU1 beta? Also, how hard is it to focus on the positive for once folks? Really... because of the frankly ridiculous bombast at having nice textures "as early as SU1 !!! " talk about having low expectations

Just look at the terrain resolution and texture sharpness here. I mostly had photogrammetry off, but looks great in Wellington. Vast improvement. (with a baron GA aircraft) I tested it without the beta, set myself in Galway set the time and weather to 7UTC this morning and then tried to see what happend to my DA40. Wind was so strong that the airspeed came alive to 60 knots imidiately, got blown backwards as soon as I released the parking breakes, managed to lift off in a 70+ gust without any power from the propeller and was then blown into the hangar. I'm very much dead now. 😉 Edited January 24, 20251 yr by Farlis

I'm astounded at such a statement after you have seen visual evidence of terrain and texture improvements. I just posted another couple of videos - how could you not be blown away by the terrain resolution and texture sharpness? Your videos do look MUCH better than the one in the other thread and the screenshots in this thread. Much better! I simply said what I had seen thus far in terms of screenshots and videos didn't align to the overabundance of enthusiasm but your videos are the most compelling I have seen yet. I don't often do low and slow in a biplane but they look great and also looked incredibly smooth. Edited January 24, 20251 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

January 24, 20251 yr 1 hour ago, EGLD said: what am I missing here, why are people so utterly blown away by having good textures? Mind blown, there just aren't the words to respond. 1 hour ago, EGLD said: or is it that they are very superior to 2020 that is what is so impressive? They certainly are - better than what the Map Enhancement Mod could manage. 1 hour ago, EGLD said: surely the issue here is that they released a sim with appalling texture blurring issues and have just raised it to the base level everyone expected when paying $200? What base level are you talking about? Textures in SU1 beta are a massive improvement over 2020, both in resolution and sharpness. 1 hour ago, EGLD said: why weren't you expecting this from SU1? should've been in the RC, let alone SU1 I was expecting it in RC1, but I am never surprised when a hugely complicated piece of software has issues. What I don't get is the desire to go back to November the 19th 2024 whenever a fantastic improvement in the sim appears. SU1 is probably the biggest jump in graphical quality I have ever seen in MS Flightsim.
