So I did try this but unfortunately it didn't seem to import my custom views that I save with ctrl-alt+# and recall with alt+#  just the default views unfortunately.

I won’t be commenting more on this because everything will be revealed in due time but… This very “feature” is the first thing we got rid of in this new version of CP. It made my blood boil from day 1

We’ve decided to re-code some parts of the app to work better (things like adding support for all F keys and some more quality of life things). As I said before, CP lives at the bounds of the SDK

More news on release date and pricing early next week 😉

Any way to have the Drone cam follow the plane as it does with default controls?  I tried but seems it's fixed and not seeing a way to change that.  Maybe that is handled by Chase or Spot views?

In the Prepar3D version there were camera movements for wind/turbulence etc .

Did I miss something, or are these just not present ?

Can you open a ticket about this?

We discovered an issue that prevents a proper import on some aircraft, and we have a test build fixing it.

What you are looking for is the Chase View (Or any views with the Chase Group)

VR question.  When you select vr view reset (you must do this at the start of each vr session), are the custom views anchored to this reset point or are they independent?  One thing I don’t like about the default camera system is that custom views are anchored to the vr reset point.  This effectively means all the custom views can change slightly since your vr reset point can change from session to session.  My hope is chaseplane custom views are fixed regardless of how I set my vr reset point.  Hope this makes sense to someone.

A quick example of this is to turn your head 90 degrees to one side and hit vr view reset.  Now you’ll find all of your custom views are also rotated 90 degrees.

The view behaves like it does in non-VR, meaning each camera view has a position and then the position of your head in VR is added on top of that. Be sure to read the Known Limitations before buying CP if you use VR: https://parallel42.com/blogs/wiki/chaseplane-known-limitations

Thanks.  It sounds like you guys have fixed my main issue.  I might wait until the mouse cursor issue is fixed though before buying if you’re able to figure it out.

Ah, I was looking for this... It's in the Group definition!

Love the Chase views for my walkaround as well.

First impressions minus the import are very good.  I set my keystrokes back up, shortcut keys back up and joystick mappings within CP and everything working as expected.

I’m weak and ended up buying anyway.  Unfortunately the vr reset does function the same as the default camera.  Any change will change the reference point for all other camera views.  HOWEVER, the UI and everything else is head and shoulders above the default!

‘The wiki mentioned that the mouse cursor bug appears in all but the default view.  What exactly is the default view, because I’m getting this issue regardless of what view I select?

Ok just submitted and put in some more detail.  It would be great if chaseplane could take control of the vr reset function just like any other custom view.  As it stands now, that is currently established and controlled within the default sim camera.cfg file using precise xyz coordinates.  Thanks for looking into this!

If you never leave the cockpit, yes.

You don't have to configure anything and can skip your way through the control assignments.

Got a report in another thread that TrackIR does not work with Chaseplane. Is that true?

No, it's not true. There must be an isolated problem in this users case.

cheers,

Thank. I read on their Discord that they are still implementing a feature whereupon when you pause the headtracking within TrackIR, it will not reset the view but keep it in place where you paused it such as working inside the FMC, etc... Once they come out with that feature I will purchase it.
