In MSFS we don't have access to that data, so we have to get it through official means. Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.

I am surprised that you have never experienced this, considering that it is the default setting (since I have never changed anything with respect to the external viewpoint). It has nothing whatsoever to do with zoom levels. The view is stretched and totally unrealistic. Yet another bizarre decision made by Asobo that I struggle to understand. I am not really sure what Keven means by ".....you can totally configure the distance from the aircraft and zoom in to eliminate this issue". Zooming in and out does not change the format of the view. It needs to be corrected properly (by eliminating the "fish eye lens" look). Please tell us how we can configure it with Chaseplane to eliminate the fish eye view. You show two views but not what the settings are to create the non distorted view. Also on one of your comments above are you implying that those of us who use ultra wide displays cannot eliminate the fish eye view? Edited April 22, 20251 yr by greg100o Greg Clark

The trick is very simple, you move the camera back and you zoom in. The default system doesn't allow you to move back but we do in CP. Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.
April 22, 20251 yr Keven, Thanks. I look forward to trying it out and getting rid of the distortion that is immersion sinking with the fish eye view. Greg Clark
April 22, 20251 yr What's keeping the accolades, cheers and ovations that are supposed to come with an add-on that is obviously heading for the number one slot in "The Best of MSFS2020/24 Add-Ons 2025 " (well, IMHO anyway and no matter what's still in the pipeline). Let me give it a shot if i may. For starters, i mean, what about more than 4 years of blatantly missing Fly-By and Tower View finally and absolute exquisitely corrected !! WOW!!! 😍 I have only just been assigning key- and stick bindings and that in itself is already a great joy ! I can honestly say that never in my give or take 40 years of flightsimming i have been so extremely happy and 110% satisfied with the views both externally and internally and particularly also with the process of setting them up and binding them. You begin to wonder why it sometimes turned out to be a nightmare (and i'm not pointing at FS2020 and 2024... Oh yess i am ! ) Actually the one and only reason i've been awaiting Chase Plane's release was just *because* i'd be getting my most beloved Fly-By and Tower View back. FCR promised that too but turned out to be a total disaster. So i didn't really have much hope it would finally happen with CP, i.e. "Seeing is believing ".... Well, i just saw it and i not only believe it i totally LOVE IT !! 😍 Sofar i have only experienced maybe 25% of what Chase Plane has to offer but if this was it i'd already be over the moon ! There's a certain feel of sophistication surrounding the program that makes you think that it might have taken years of development, dedication and testing. It's an absolute class act !! One little word not allowed : i'm a dedicated MSFS2024 struggler and this ChasePlane Wonder only works with 2020 (2024 version in the pipeline). So to quote the Terminator : "I'll be back ! " And i'm not looking for quoting this other terminator but IMHO " ChasePlane makes MSFS great again!! ". T H A N K S A M I L L I O N //42 !!

Very well said! World class setup-tutorials, and I'm sure I missed some tricks to essentially port over identical buttons as were setup in MSFS 2020 custom and simplify but really enjoying it and looking forward to the 2024 port. I need to dig in to see if there is a way to impact camera shake which is great but seems slightly overdone in the one plane I've flown with CP, the Longitude. And might there be a way to zoom out in Cinamatic Mode? Seems too close to the plane and just wondered if one can move farther away from the plane for when up in altitude. It is so sweet to have the Fly-By and Tower views back! Thanks Parallel42 Team just a great release for a complex to setup program. April 23, 20251 yr Keven, Might there be a written user guide I can access for ChasePlane for 2020? I looked on your website but couldn't find anything. I ask because I'm not at the FS PC now and would like to learn a few more things about it on my laptop. Thanks again!
