Chaseplane

So...is it officially released for MSFS2020 or still under testing for selective support group? I just got an e-mail from Chaseplane that it was officially released, but it's silence all around here.

I won’t be commenting more on this because everything will be revealed in due time but… This very “feature” is the first thing we got rid of in this new version of CP. It made my blood boil from day 1

We’ve decided to re-code some parts of the app to work better (things like adding support for all F keys and some more quality of life things). As I said before, CP lives at the bounds of the SDK

Can you define fish eye?

Still not clear on whether you can use Chaseplane and Tobii eye tracker together?  I use Tobii all the time so should I wait to purchase chaseplane when they are compatible?  I loved Chaseplane in p3d.

Thanks

The external view in MSFS has a fish eye lens type of look. You can really see it when you rotate around the plane and the wings or fuselage end up stretching into longer than normal dimensions.

I would also like to know this. I love and depend on my Tobii, so would want it to be compatible with Chaseplane, which I did love in my P3D days.

AMD Ryzen 9900X3D & ASUS X870E Gaming Plus MB, w/64 Gb GSkill DDR5 RAM, PNY RTX 5090 GPU, lots of SSD's and M.2 drives, HAVN  Case, Virpil VPC Panels 2 and 3, Virpil Constellation Alpha Stick, Virpil Rotor TCS Plus w/ Hawk-60 Collective grip, TM TCA Yoke Boeing Edition, TM HOTAS A-10 and F/A-18 Sticks and TM TPR Rudder pedals. Currently on Win11

Not yet compatible with Tobii, the ball is in their court as we are awaiting official licensing.

CP comes with a set of default views (like Spot View), but you can totally configure the distance from the aircraft and zoom in to eliminate this issue.

Sorry for sounding idiotic, but I have never experienced this. Isn't this just because you have zoomed out to extreme levels?

By default, the outside view is zoomed out. And reset view key puts it back to default.

If you have a very large display and want the aircraft to look right, this zoom level is the correct one to have.

Video games in general don't handle this wide of an FOV very well.

Strange. I use Tobii with Xcamera in the other sim sometimes and I’ve never know or read that Xcamera has licensing 🤷🏻‍♂️
