Spot on total mess - I get a kick out of all these DLSS fans - I guess if you really need it its an option - 4080 series forget it no need

And Asobo will optimize it in time and will be great - if I have blurry cockpit on 1,200$ OLED something wrong

In the video TAA was 39 fps (2:30) and DLSS 4 was 50 fps (5:55). This is why I use DLSS always. A slightly blurred glass screen is not as big an issue to me as steady fps and stutters.

Even TAA is not "sharp as a tack" like he claims to my eyes. So maybe my eyesight is not great. At the DMV last month I flunked the wall chart, but passed the same test a minute later when the clerk transferred my screening to this machine which has a nice bright field of view. I have to do these full tests to get a "real" drivers license which is required to fly as a passenger. A common drivers license only allows driving, not boarding a plane.

Yes.

I would also use the Show / not show text, one click app to verify it was done right. Show, to verify. Not show, to remove the intrusive text. One click for each.

I exported the DLSS Show registry entries (ON and OFF) and import as/when required. Granted it's not exactly "in-sim", but I'm only likely to have it showing when I'm tweaking/testing which (hopefully) isn't all that often.

So after many pages with lots of discussions it is this simple ?

I do not want to use the NV App because I use GF Experience Freestyle filters.

I can't resist tweaking sims, so totally fell for this one. Also - I'm an eye-candy addict but with only a medium spec system, so anything that gives me either better visuals or smoothness gets more than a passing glance and I'm grateful for all the contributions over this 20-page (and counting) thread.

After much messing about, I settled for the nVidia Inspector and Swapper approach - no Geforce or nVidia App. My system (and MSFS 2024/RTX 4060Ti) has remained stable throughout - despite all my attempts to break it (!). The registry edit shows that all is as it should be post-tweak.

However - it's possible that people with better systems than mine see big differences, but I don't: possibly a (welcome) 5 fps gain, but nothing earth shattering in the visuals department. I don't use VR, so nothing ventured, nothing gained in that department.

So ... definitely worth a try - especially if you try the simpl(er) approach.

Now I've read so much and I can't get any further. Can someone tell me how to use DLSS 4 without the Mvidia app? which NV inspector do I need with a link. I use the DLSS swaper. After multiple installations, the NV APP does not show any settings from 2020 and 2024. I think you don't need the NV app.

If you swapped files using DLSS Swapper, you need to restore the original versions of the files. If you've used DLSS Tweaks in the past, you should also restore everything to the original versions and delete the DLSS Tweaks files.

After that, please follow my guide, which I’ve written step by step on how to swap DLSS without using the Nvidia app or DLSS Swapper.

Reinstall the latest Nvidia driver and do not install Nvidia app. After installation, create a new folder for Nvidia Profile Inspector and extract Nvidia Profile Inspector files into it.

This is very important because it ensures that no other XML files interfere with the NPI.

I just downloaded the driver, installed the graphics driver only (no nvidia app, no physx, audio, whatever driver)

Downloaded latest DLSS Swapper

Swapped the DLSS dll for msfs2024

Enabled the debug information (option available in DLSS Swapper)

It shows 310.2.1 and Preset K

 

My graphics card : 3080Ti

DLSS 4 has been nothing but amazing on my PC.  I didn't record a video (using HDR), but I flew from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in the excellent Cows DA40. The whole trip I was just constantly staring at the scenery - pin sharp out to the horizon.  Colours were sublime and the lighting superb.

I have been using TAA because my system has enough power, but DLSS 4 with DLAA is incredible - I am not running this combo for performance reasons.

I purchased Rex Atmos for 2020 on day one, but for 2024 I don't see a reason.  2020 was a tweak sim for colours and lighting.  2024 has been perfect here, no need for any tweaking to the colours at all.

If it is released for 2024, I'll have a look to see if it does anything the 2020 version didn't, but 2024 here just doesn't need tweaking for colours or lighting.
