I am putting this here so that it doesn't get swamped in the other posts... Lots of mis-info.

So first off, you do not need to download any DLL's or swap any DLL's.

1.) Download new NVidia drivers. Install them

2.) Download new NVidia app. Install it.

3.) Restart PC.

4.) go in new Nvidia app, select MSFS2024,  and make sure that in DLSS override - Model presets is set to 'frame generation - Latest'.

1-30-2025-11-13-11-AM.jpg

5.) Download NVidia inspector. You need new version 2.4.0.8 https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/download/2.4.0.8/nvidiaProfileInspector.zip

6.) Run it and change the settings as per my pictures below.

7.) That's i! All done, go fly MSFS2024 in new DLSS4.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong here...After updating the Nvidia App and the latest driver 572.16 in Nvidia App it says that DLSS 4 does not support my MSFS 2020 (40th Anniversary Edition) an MSFS 2024???? My graphics card is ASUS RTX4080 Super 16GB. All the DLSS 4 settings are greyed out in the Nvidia app.

Thank you @Ianrivaldosmith, your opening post has very clear instructions!

Everything is working fine on my system.

Glad it helped. I’m not sure what all the drama is here. Swap dlls of this and that isn’t needed, but hey, some people can not be helped.

With regards to people not seeing the options in nvidia inspector, did you download the new version linked in setup guide AFTER you installed the new drivers? No custom profile is needed.

PS for those that want to See the text in game to see what version it’s running, you need to run a reg tweak.l, as @V1ROTA7E mentioned. https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-dlss-indicator/

For those that don’t have/ don’t want to use new nvidia APP or whereby new nvidia app has everything greyed out:-

(from https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/nvidia-game-ready-driver-572-16/702204/217?u=tenpatrol )

I downloaded the latest Nvidia Profile Inspector (version 2.4.0.8) from GitHub.
https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/download/2.4.0.8/nvidiaProfileInspector.zip

I ran Nvidia Profile Inspector as an administrator and, in the Global Profile, set 0x00000001 for the following settings:

Enable DLSS-FG override

Enable DLSS-SR override

Enable DLSS-RR override

set 0x00FFFFFF for the following settings:

Override DLSS-RR preset

Override DLSS-SR presets

I clicked Apply changes in the top right corner to confirm the changes.

This is all that you need to do! No need to swap or download any dll files or mess around with any profiles or anything else. It’s simple!

I thought we should use preset J? Slightly confusing everything...

No need to even select a preset. Look at my guide or update guide above.

0x00FFFFFF = profile K which is forced globally and the DLL are accesses dynamically.

Yeah, got this, but why Preset K? Basically is setting the HEX Code nothing different than directly selecting the Preset in the nVIDIA App, no?

That’s the one nvidia are recommending since Jan 30.

The newest DLSS profile is K that is combatible with latest Nvidia GPU drivers released 30.1.2025

The profile J was temp profile for earlier drivers

I see, thanks. But I still do not get why I shout pamper around in Inspector and the HEX code lines when I have a dropdown menue in the MSFS2024 specific settings inside the App allowing me to select Preset K specifically for MSFS2024 only without influencing all other games.

Try it and see if it works, if it does even better.

Also confusing, in the App it is called "newest", there is no Preset K, just Preset J etc. But if I select "newest" and then I go over to NI, the correct hex code is selected and set, so it does the same it seems. What a mess...

Is this DLSS hassle only for 2024, or does it work with 2020 as well? but I see no reason to keep going through this hassle as TAA works great for me in 2020.

2020 you can just use the new nvidia app I believe. This hassle is more for 2024. PS it looks better than TAA now.

As has been said by several people here, I don't have this line:
Override DLSS-SR presets

Do you know why?

- PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D //  Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO //  2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 //  ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600  //  Corsair 1600W PSU
Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor.
- Simulator Hardware: Virpil Constellation Alpha Prime + Virpil  VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + TCA Captain Pack Airbus Edition + Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder + Winwing Airbus FCU & EFIS.

DLSS V310.2.1 is in fact DLSS4

This right here is a bone idol approach to naming convention, it should be called V4!
