For those that don’t have/ don’t want to use new nvidia APP or whereby new nvidia app has everything greyed out:-

I downloaded the latest Nvidia Profile Inspector (version 2.4.0.8) from GitHub.
https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/download/2.4.0.8/nvidiaProfileInspector.zip

I ran Nvidia Profile Inspector as an administrator and, in the Global Profile, set 0x00000001 for the following settings:

Enable DLSS-FG override

Enable DLSS-SR override

Enable DLSS-RR override

set 0x00FFFFFF for the following settings:

Override DLSS-RR preset

Override DLSS-SR presets

I clicked Apply changes in the top right corner to confirm the changes.

This is all that you need to do! No need to swap or download any dll files or mess around with any profiles or anything else. It’s simple!

Thank you. Did not want to use the app.

Question : what happend after a MSFS update ? Do we have to it all over again because the DLSS files might have been overwritten ?

What a load of ballache for someting that should be made quite simple using a switch inside the nvidia app and/or msfs.

It seems that the tweaks work for some and not for others, some say it works in 2020 but not 2024, some use the nvidia app, others use profile inspector, some use dlss swapper and some dont, I'm not even sure that the process works the same for 20, 30, 40 and 50 series cards.

It's a right old muddle with different posters sharing quite different experiences.

To make things even more complicate, DLSS Swapper now suddenly offers me a even newer version of the DLSS files, 310.2.1.0... what an absolute mess, why not just simply giving options inside the app...

I'd like to know this as well. Based on Ian's method, there's no need to replace any DLSS .dll files, like we did before (with the swapper or manually).

And I suppose the "proof" that DLSS4 and profile K is in fact active, is the simple registry entry - which can be done very easily (on then off) with two files here. That will, as mentioned, show the DLSS status in the bottom right of the sim.

I've uninstalled app and drivers, used DDU in safe mode, reinstalled 572.16, reinstalled app, still has the 3 overrides greyed out.

Fun times!

ignore the app, I uninstalled that and did it the DLSSTweaks way with DLSS Swapper to get latest files, Preset K shows in game (MSFS24) but for some reason I can't select Ultra Quality even though I have a value set for that in the Tweaks program.

Edit: I hadn't Enabled it in the Tweak settings 🤦‍♂️

I agree, I'm so tired of all this endless tweaking with flight sims, will it ever ends?

This right here is a bone idol approach to naming convention, it should be called V4!

Tell me about it. I don't understand why they created this confusion rather than just naming it 400.xxz

The dll files are drawn dynamically now from a nvidia folder. You can ignore what is in the MSFS dll folder now.

Thanks for an excellent guide.

On my 4070 laptop everything went by the book and it boosted framerates by 50%!

However on my 3090 desktop there's no difference in frames and I'm getting the three DLSS Overrides in the App showing "Unsupported".  Yes, I've made the change to the Override settings via Nvida Profile Inspector posted earlier.

Any ideas?

So could you please edit your post and add a link to the source with a note that you found the suggestion there and the author is TenPatrol? Right now, it looks like you wrote it yourself, but it seems you copied my post and made a few small edits to shorten it.

Thank you!

As has been said by several people here, I don't have this line:
Override DLSS-SR presets

Do you know why?

I don't see the option in the inspector to change 'override DLSS-RR preset'.  I do see all the other entries.

Same

It's highly likely that the cause is related to changes you made in the past, which were saved in the Nvidia Profile Inspector.

Alternatively, you may have downloaded an XML file at some point and added it to the folder containing the Nvidia Profile Inspector - I'm pretty sure 😉

Go to the folder where you have Nvidia Profile Inspector and delete the file named CustomSettingNames.xml and then run Nvidia Profile Inspector.

Fly safe.

that's exactly what happened each and every time you re-install or update MSFS and again after installing 2024 SU1 beta, the Nvidia DLSS DLLs in the MSFS game folder got down-graded by Asobo's install process. as mentioned earlier in the other DLSS4 thread. I am confident V1rotate will gladly search and provide  my exact post for you.
