Thanks-looks good except that in the Nvidia app all DLSS options were greyed out for me.

I therefore went with the manual  steps described on the original Reddit post for cyberpunk and others on these forums and deleted the Nvidia app which was unfortunately not the solution for me

what fixed that for me was I uninstalled the Nvidia app and re-downloaded it and that fixed the greyed out options

Hi,

Didn’t work for me.

The solution was dll swapper + Nvidia inspector.

Greetings.

I did all the steps described by Ian and TenPatrol. This is what the DLSS indicator shows:

Hopefully that means that DLSS4 is working correctly.

It's super-confusing though that it says "DLSSv3 v310.2.1". Nvidia didn't want to make things easy for us this time! I guess O-Ren Ishii was right 😕

Overall, I'm not extremely impressed with how Nvidia has handled things lately:

  • an extremely messy implementation of DLSS4 (well, at least for MSFS)
  • MSFS2020+2024 were part of the games that were supposed to be DLSS4-ready from "Day 0"*. Clearly that's not the case.
  • A word not allowed 5080 which is no better than the 4080
  • A (severely) overpriced (as usual) 5090 - which is pretty much impossible to get for several months as they didn't produce nearly enough (according to Gamers Nexus which I trust)

I'm not sure if DLSS swapper is going to be the saviour here. As these files are nowadays handled by the latest Nvidia driver. Well, that's the way I understand it - things are still very messy. The latest version of Inspector is required however. Well, at least for me - both 2020 and 2024 DLSS override options were greyed out in the shiny new Nvidia App™.

I'm going to be very bold and link my DLSS4 installation guide - credits to Ian and TenPatrol of course!

Ian and TenPatrol - please correct me if I'm wrong!

wait till you update today's MSFS 2024 SU1 beta 2, same procedure as every year James.

both DLSS4 DLLs were downgraded back again to the old Pre-version 4 to DLL version 3.7.20.0.

you all have fun going through the DLL update again.🤣

AFTER SU 1  beta 2

Do you have link to new DLL files ?

the same we used before:

310.2.1.0

sorry, I would have to "sift through 21 pages" of the other DLSS thread. I am confident V1rotate will be here shortly with the direct link.

Ah, another update Miss Sophie! Wait - you're not supposed to know this, as it's a deeply buried European secret.

Nevertheless, I will stand down for now and do a sim update tomorrow, CET! Cheers! 🍾

I was under the (probably falsely) impression that the latest Nvidia driver would handle all things DLSS4!

I never believed that since the Nvidia driver install routine would have to check for all your installed games and then update whatever version DLLs it finds - OR - Asobo would have to load the DLLs from a folder created by NVidia. both is unlikely because it would create another set of pandora boxes.
