Phew! Time for a cold beer. Cheers! 🍺

Personally I see more of an Image quality gain than performance..

Ghosting is almost gone, coloring looks very good but not seeing any performance gains, maybe you need to spend $6,000 on a GPU for that 🤦‍♂️

Thanks-looks good except that in the Nvidia app all DLSS options were greyed out for me.

I therefore went with the manual  steps described on the original Reddit post for cyberpunk and others on these forums and deleted the Nvidia app which was unfortunately not the solution for me

Same for me. I wonder if those option are available for SU1 beta?

Works great for me in VR in FS2020, but in FS2024 the frame rate goes to hell in VR depending on where I look.  RTX3090.  Anyone else having the same issue?

MSFS24 is such a bug ridden mess in VR I wouldn't waste too much time on it personally, one minute it's running just fine then the next the FPS plummets and you have to restart the PC.

I just dropped the latest DLSS file pre DLSS4 off of TechRadar into Xbox Games/MSFS/Content and all was well, it's version 3.8 or something like that as my prior version was pretty old, v2 or something.  Why is it that one can't do this w/ v4, provided you have a driver than can use it installed?

Hmmm, it's been fairly ok for me so far except for the big black box.  But since it's working with 2020 I guess it's obviously ANOTHER 2024 issue. 😞

I am putting this here so that it doesn't get swamped in the other posts... Lots of mis-info.

So first off, you do not need to download any DLL's or swap any DLL's.

1.) Download new NVidia drivers. Install them

2.) Download new NVidia app. Install it.

3.) Restart PC.

4.) go in new Nvidia app, select MSFS2024,  and make sure that in DLSS override - Model presets is set to 'frame generation - Latest'.

1-30-2025-11-13-11-AM.jpg

5.) Download NVidia inspector. You need new version 2.4.0.8 https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/download/2.4.0.8/nvidiaProfileInspector.zip

6.) Run it and change the settings as per my pictures below.

3.jpg

7.) That's i! All done, go fly MSFS2024 in new DLSS4.

Followed this exactly and I am still getting an older version...

Eureka! It worked for me. I've only got a 3080ti so run the hack to get Frame Generation working. When I followed the instructions above I lost the FG option in the game settings but going back into Nvidia Inspector and changing the FG Override option back to all zeros has brought it back. More importantly the DLSS Quality setting in game now produces a beautifully crisp image, way better than anything I've seen previously.

Uh oh, just tried loading MSFS2020 for the first time since I installed the new driver and DLSS stuff and it fails with this error message

Error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887a0006)

Had a search and not seeing reports of this arising as part of this DLSS installation so has anyone any idea what I need to do to fix this error please?

EDIT - Uninstalled the pesky Nvidia app and it seems ok now

Was DX11 or 12 set inside your MSFS settings. If not set to DX12, the NVIDIA app will cause a CTD.

Thanks, yes I was on DX11 so that explains it. From what I can see the Nvidia app is currently causing more trouble than it's worth so I'll hold off reinstalling until things settle.

In other words the NVidia app is seriously bugged. I won’t be installing that rubbish.

I can only get it to work with the DLSS Swapper...

I did all the steps described by Ian and TenPatrol. This is what the DLSS indicator shows:

Daw2rcp.png

Hopefully that means that DLSS4 is working correctly.

I have the very same, so we're good to go!

My way of getting there was very simple.

  • Installed the Nvidia app for the first time
  • let the Nvidia app update my driver to 576.12
  • Rebooted
  • Selected MSFS2020 in the app/Graphics and set the 2 (out of 3) available sections to "Latest"

That's all there was to it.
Of possible note to why this was utterly painless for me:

  • Always done custom installs of Nvidia drivers, installing only the Graphics and HD Audio drivers
  • Never used GeForce app or NPI previously

Keep it simple.

I dunno why I had to jump through the inspector hoops... I did a clean install of the driver. But hey - I think it's working so... off to do a flight with delicious DLSS+DLAA AI-enabled goodness 😅
