February 8, 20251 yr Thx for sharing ! Seriously considering buying a SI subscription. Will probably give "OpenSky" a try though... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
February 8, 20251 yr @jcomm - OpenSky will give you a decent idea of how good SI really is. Then, if you are like me, will come the subscription to gain the full benefits of SI. It is amazing. The interaction is so lifelike that you will think there is a human on the other end of the channel. Absolutely no robotic voices outside of ATIS. Pure human dialog from an ai based app that responds accurately to your requests and responses. SI is an example of how good and useful ai can really be, imho. Glenn Wilkinson SpoilerMy specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz, 32 GB 3200MHz DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB, 2TB SAMSUNG EVO Plus SSD M2, 2TB WD Black Gaming SSD M2, 8TB WD Black Gaming HDD, 4TB WD Black Gaming Ext HDD, Windows 10, X-Plane 12 + large quantity of 3rd party addons scenery & aircraft. Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Thrustmaster TFRP. It's an older machine but gets the job done quite nicely - smooth with no stutters!

I guess that's indeed what I've been after since decades... Only problem now will be how to co-exist with family having to speak weird stuff while they watch the soaps 🙂 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

However, for me, compared to spending $20+ a month for beer and/or fast food on a whim, it was a good substitute for my money. I will say that at first, I was a little skeptical about the cost, but once I started using it, to me it was a no brainer. Probably the best addon besides several payware aircraft that I have found for my flight simming. Also, I can use it with both XP12 and P3Dv5. Just my $0.02, of course, ymmv. We use it very sparsely, mostly when entering the circuit or talking to some ATC agent at an airfield we're planning to cross, but other than that I never really had the chance to practice ATC, so, I have long dreamed of an ATC robot in flight simulation that could make me practice as clkose as possible to RL. From what I've seen so far SayIntentions really looks like the best positioned for that purpose. I use BATC and FSHUD, lately a lot more BATC. Beyond ATC is $30 for a lifetime ( all I use is default voices which sound good and even have accents in other countries). Big difference between that price and $200 a year.
February 8, 20251 yr Considering Brian was just caught and admitted to using bots to promote his services, and provides comp for people to post videos, we should probably institute a forum moratorium on posting links to SI videos. More info here! Pretty gross behavior - I won't be trying it again.

Yup...I wasn't happy to see them compensating people to spam SI across all and every social media platform. They had a whole section on their Discord where you could screenshot your spam in order to get compensated or entered into a drawing, etc. I suspect EasyJet Guy and others are also being compensated but of course none will disclose that fact. Slimy marketing techniques IMO. Every time I see one of these posts raving about SI, I just assume it's a paid promoter...or somebody trying to enter the raffle for a free SI T-shirt... February 9, 20251 yr Simmers will have to pay extra of course for 3rd party AI / ATC to small Dev groups. Unreasonable to suggest a 4 trillion dollar AI company that produces the sim, whose main products include: CoPilot, and with CoPilot buttons for their own OS could include AI ATC / Copilot in flight sim. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Big difference between that price and $200 a year. All I did is add some premium voices for $10 more. It should last me a year. I'd rather support BATC, but I admit that a free ATC add-on is a nice option for those who don't want a payware beta atc add-on. MSFS
February 9, 20251 yr The response wait times in SI are pretty laughable. You can request clearance, go get a cup of tea and voila! Jacek G. Ryzen 5800X3D | Asus RTX4090 OC | 64gb DDR4 3600 | Asus ROG Strix X570E | HX1000w | Fractal Design Torrent RGB | AOC AGON 49' Curved QHD |
