trees ruining experience

Featured Replies

Been flying around the desert southwest in msfs 2024, places to include KELP, KABQ, KPHX and others.  Immersion is completely destroyed

by large, almost lime green trees in the desert where there is almost no vegetation in real life. No improvement with Bijans seasons. Any recommendations to improve the immersion killing trees?

thanks

Ask Bijan to fix it, he is doing it on request for many places in the world.

Just had a quick look at KABQ area, and it seems to match up with what I see on Google Earth. You mention Bijan's "seasons" - have you got the correct (2024) version? https://secure.simmarket.com/bijan-habashi-seasons-enhanced-by-bijan-msfs24.phtml Older versions don't work in 2024, apparently.

That's exactly my problem with Bijan. I love Bijan and admire his work. I did bought his product. But if he goes on fixing all places in the world ONE BY ONE....  How many decades is it going to take???

I mean...There must be some other and global solution. I also purchase the Taburet product (as I mentioned here already before). But I believe Bijan is more refined...Only it still misses a fix for myriads of places around the globe.

Confirmed I have Bijan enhanced for 2024.  I lived in KELP for 21 years and did my Private Pilot training out there. Way too much bright green and poorly placed trees. Probably the sim and not Bijan's. Globs of large light colored trees in the desert east of KELP in the Southeast Practice Area.  Overgrown and too numerous trees out near Montwood High School in El Paso. The Franklin Mountains full of green when in reality its just desert brush.  Also, near KPHX, Camelback Mountain full of funny looking, over grown trees. Will attempt to post some screen shots next time Im using the sim.  Maybe its something Im doing wrong, but in this regard, 2020 looks far more realistic on my system.

The only other solution is for Asobo (or whatever team in MS creates World Updates) is to do it themselves, that or the AI placement technology they use needs to be refined.

Yes it will take Bijan or anyone else years to "clean up" trees where they shouldn't be, so all you can do at this time as already advised is send a request directly to him.

Definitely a step backwards with some aspects of the PG processing in 2024. For me, it feels like the PG buildings look a lot better in a lot of places - to the point that I even prefer it to some of the "city" type addons I have for 2020 - but the PG vegetation is way, way worse. Huge amounts of those green concrete pillars and blobs, and even when the trees themselves look ok there are way too many of them.

I've mentioned/asked a couple of times, but I heard they dropped Blackshark? Not seen it confirmed anywhere and not trying to spread rumours but if anyone has got any info on how they do this stuff now I'd be interested to read more. Because they are putting out some terrible stuff amongst the gems now. Mostly, 2024 amazes me with its look, but every now and then I stumble across an area that feels like it's been beamed in from another sim altogether.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Trees are keeping me from using MSFS 2024 right now. There are far, far to many of them... But it is logged by Asobo. I hope it will be improved someday.

Cheers, Bert

Definitely agree with the above.  There are way too many trees in places they shouldn't be all over MSFS2024.  There is something wrong with the AI they are using.  Almost everywhere I fly I see far too many trees hiding the true beauty of the landscape.  Maybe I am being too simplistic, but it just sems like the algorithms need a little bit of tweaking rather than a complete overhaul.

I was afraid of that, and it is yet another reason why I am sticking with MSFS 2020 for now. When I read that they had dropped Blackshark AI for MSFS 2024, I was worried what effect that might have on the quality of (specifically) the autogen buildings. I do not use PG at all, so the quality and realism of the autogen buildings is extremely important to me. It looks really nice in MSFS 2020 in most locations (apart from those ridiculous square oil tanks at refineries).

The buildings especially lost all proportions. Small ground houses became skyscrapers. Not sure how they even released it...
