Aerosoft CRJ V2 released

Featured Replies

Please confirm it's still not available in the 2024 Marketplace yet?  Mine's greyed out.  Maybe I missed something.

  • This is another one I will sit out and wait to see the feedback before diving in...   Unfortunately Aerosoft has let me down so many times I'm reluctant to get anything from them anymore.   Fool me on

  • If you bought the original version, it is very cheap at 0.00 of your currency.

Gotcha. Any chance this is out this weekend?

Saw this yesterday as well but wondering whether this is really v3 and not about the current v2?

The official release numbering will be “2.1” not “3”. It includes all the improvements of V 2.0 released earlier this year plus a brand new flight model making use of CFD.

Like 2.0, 2.1 will be a free update for all those that own the original CRJ

I don’t fly the CRJ but do work on them as a mechanic and am a technical consultant, but the 3 r/w CRJ pilots on the test team report that the flight performance is now extremely close to the real aircraft in all flight regimes. One of the test pilots, “YourSimCFI” has been working extensively with the FDE developer to test and refine its performance.

It works very well in MSFS 2024, but it is not yet an “official” 2024 release with 2024-specific features like working windshield wipers - that will come later and (I assume) will be numbered 3.0.

Hans and the test team have been working very hard on this since last autumn when 2.0 development started. We have been through 79 beta test builds. The last two were just to nail down correct autopilot disconnect logic. (When disconnecting via the yoke disconnect button, the alert tone sounds continuously until silenced with a second press. If disconnecting by pressing the bar on the AP control panel or by accidentally actuating stabilizer trim, the alert sounds only three times).

It’s a small thing that only a r/w CRJ pilot would even notice, but we are really striving for as much r/w accuracy as possible.

With the new FDE, hand flying and takeoff and landing performance is superb.

I’m not privy to the release timeline, but I believe Hans submitted the new version to MS for the marketplace within the last couple of days, so I assume a direct-install version will be coming very shortly - either through the Aerosoft One installer or from other retailers.

I feel this is a very unique perspective.  It seems across the board that people are happy with the V2 release.

the v2 worked very well in 2024 SU3beta yesterday for a few flights. My primary concern was that it requires much more actually flying than any 737max or Airbus just because of the missing autothrottle …

Now I have to be that guy:

I did not have any of the issues you report and I fly the CRJ relatively often. It's reliable within limits and flies well. The V2 is definately a much needed improvement over V1 and not at all a bad release.

2024, no beta, full SU2. I've looked through reddit and other forums and other people have had WASM crashes and the localizer issue as well. I mean I know sometimes all the bugs come together on one flight, but for a mere 1 hour (!) flight that was just too much for me.

I mean WASM crashes are bad enough, but at least ini and PMDG have them too, but you just cannot release an aircraft that intercepts the localizer and flies into the wrong direction. Bugs like these are unfortunately very common for Hans Hartmann and... I don't know I'm just too old for that ****.

I'm glad it works for other people, but I gave it a chance and it turned out dead on arrival for me. I have so many other great aircraft to spend my time on.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Their are WASM crashes occasionally with everything. Specially 2024!

Just checking.

Have other pilots reported this with CRJ v2?

Which ILS approach had the problem?

Notes:

I have not purchased MSFS2024.

I do have CRJ v2 in MSFS2020.

I use Navigraph Navdata

I have over 30 flights and not one problem on any of my flights. (OMG, I sound like Bob).

Localizer should not be turned on before 15 miles and make sure you are on a VOR setting and not gps.

Mine is too but you can open a ticket with aerosoft and they will transfer your MP license to Aerosoft One. Don’t like yet another install program but was desperate enough to go this path. Takes them some days after you provided some proof of purchase. Seems like you can wait some more days until it *really* hits MP, being v2 or even v2.1

Is this update just for the flight model or have they been improving other things like direct to logic etc?

Gotta give it a shot again. Last time I was flying a long haul and CRJ started  stuttering badly. Pretty much no other add on  I have has this issue. I suspect it may be related to EFB map though

I would wait for the new patch. No point in flying it before that. Also, could be new issues that had to be resolved because of SU2 going public. All my flights were with S2 beta, not the final public one.

Yes DIR INTC has been improved also.
