No Dash 8 in 2020-2024, almost a crime.

I'd much prefer a Q200 over a Q400, but I'm fairly certain I'm in a small minority.

I would take any, with 300 probably my favorite. A 200 would be great also.

One reason I still have P3D installed. No one says you have to delete P3D just because you have 2020/24. Storage is cheap!

  • There was another thread here on Majestic specifically…apparently the systems are quite well developed but they lack a 3D modeller? Given the prevalence of Q400s in the Canadian skies I’m eagerly

  • I hear you... really miss the Majestic Q400 in MSFS. One of the best planes in FSX/P3D. In a perfect world, we would even have their Q300 by now.

I think we are missing a whole lot of aircraft.  Some are in the pipeline but it seems to take just as long developing an aircraft for MSFS as it does the real thing these days!

I think one thing holding things up is someone will announce a plane and because of development time and cost nobody else takes it on.  The 1st developer ends up going vaporware and we get left high and dry.  I think eventually we will have most stuff we want but it might be another 10 years.

Yeah a Q400 along with the other Dash 8 variants are sorely needed.  Not sure if Majestic will actually ever deliver?  I hope they sell the project to a respected developer to finish it and not just leave us out high and dry!

I spent about seven years flying the Q400 for my day job, and I'd guess part of why it hasn't shown up in MSFS is that there's a lot of systems on the airplane that don't work like you'd expect them to (it's possible to transfer fluid between hydraulic systems with the parking brake, and there's a handful of flight deck controls that are inoperative (or are overridden by another system) but had to be installed because the -100 thru -300 models had them), and some of the odder quirks of the airplane (like the two FMS's and VNAV systems not actually talking to each other) would probably be annoying to recreate virtually.

On the plus side, since Bombardier has abandoned the Dash 8 line, it's now owned by a company (Viking/DeHavilland Canada) that Asobo already has a licensing agreement with, so maybe we'll get a severely broken Famous Flyer or Local Legend Dash 8 out of it.

With Qantas still kicking the q400s and even the smaller ones, + 1, we need a Dash 8 asap.

I dearly miss a Dash 8 as well. In my opinion it would fit perfectly in Justflights lineup of aircraft, I really hope they consider it.

I guess the latest we have on the Majestic Q400 is this right? https://majesticsoftware.com/forums/discussion/1501/majestic-software-q400-2024-update ... don't believe any more recent updates from other channels.

Additional Information regarding MSFS 2020/2024:
Development on the Q400 is on going but we are still in the process of working to source a modeler to begin on the tasks that need to be done, which will be very time consuming. as progress on this becomes available we will share more information when we deem it necessary to do so.
The aircraft on the back end works very well with MSFS2020 although there will need to be some additional work for MSFS2024 as it is fairly new to us as it has new technologies that will certainly provide new opportunities for development.

Same here. The Dash 8 and the FS Labs Concorde is the only reason I still have P3D installed.

I wish FSL had focused on the Concorde first for MSFS rather than the A32x line.

Given the prevalence of Q400s in the Canadian skies I’m eagerly awaiting one in MSFS.

Oh yes, a Just Flight Dash 8. They'd probably do all the variants too - 200, 400 etc. What a nice thought.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

The Q400 is the plane I want more than any other.  But still no news from majestic.  I recently asked in their forum if they had any luck finding a modeler.  But they didn't reply.  More than other developers they seem to get annoyed at people asking about their progress.  Or lack thereof.

Update from a few days ago on Majestic forums is they have a modeler now, work has been done in the exterior, and will move on to the VC when that's complete
