April 23, 20251 yr Being the OP of a recent thread questioning the viability of 2024 at this time, I can truly say wow. Just installed 2024 yesterday and only had a couple of hours to spend with it. The graphics/visuals are outstanding for GA, probably all I'll ever do. Amazing how much quality freeware there is for 2024. Big thanks to Bert for pointing me in the right direction. I seem to have been able to set up the primary flight controls for the most part. I'm sure I'll become more proficient in time, I pray. Yoke: Saitek Cessna Yoke Pedals: Saitek Pro Pedals CH Trottle Quadrant Not Set Up Yet: Saitek Radio Panel and Multipanel. Saitek Cessna Trim Wheel, but I don't know where the hell it is? Right now I'm struggling with the views, especially the pan function from the hat button on the yoke. I really used this a lot in P3D, any suggestions for this and other views. P.S. I just started simming again with P3D V5.4 about 5 days ago after an ~ 7 yr hiatus. Not an expert with anything here! Thanks to the community and good to be back😃 Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again

What makes it even better compared to all the other flight sims is that MSFS has the best default G1000, G3000, G5000, and G3X. You can't even buy a better G1000, G3000, G5000, or G3X add-on even in the payware market. And the default GNS 430 and GNS 530 area also very good in MSFS. This is all thanks to the work of Working Title, who are on the MSFS team. For MSFS 2024, Working Title also did the Honeywell Primus Epic 2 and Universal UNS-1. You get a combination of the best graphics for a flight simulator, with arguably some of the best flight dynamics now, some of the most realistic ground handling with how they modeled rocks/boulders across the world, and an excellent suite of avionics from Working Title for various GA planes. Hope you enjoy MSFS 2024! Edited April 23, 20251 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

I have all sorts of peripherals but this one I consider absolutely essential. Enjoy MSFS2024! 😊

Best tip I can give you: ignore all the naysayers, who pull everyone down with their negativity, mostly based on "what they read on the internet", a basic unfamiliarity with the sim, or an unwillingness to retrain themselves to learn, for example, how the new control scheme works. There are by now hundreds of youtube videos that pretty much explain almost every aspect of MSFS 2024. MSFS 2024 still has plenty of room for improvement. The Pilatus PC-24 is a joke (by Carenado, so no surprise there). Edited April 23, 20251 yr by Ricardo41

April 23, 20251 yr The first flight I picked a random airfield in New Zealand in the C152, flew down the coast and landed at a dirt strip surrounded by trees and hills. I landed in the long grass, taxiied up to a shed, got out the aircraft and explored the shed which was had packing boxes and stuff. Quite an experience. Sadly, I spend most of my time in two airliners that don't work in 2024, so I have to wait before I can make the switch. April 23, 20251 yr You will love MSFS2024. I have enjoyed the regular updates and fixes since it came out late last year. MSFS2020 long gone off my system. Enjoy mate. Jase
April 23, 20251 yr 2024 looks great, flies great (with properly developed aircraft be they default or 3rd party, more so with all of the 2024's flight dynamics advancements especially for aircraft flight models that use CFD), handles on the ground great be it runway or other terrain, has default avionics of payware or higher level quality, has aircraft of overall fidelity (systems/FM/etc) that is unprecedented for being default, etc etc. And oh, MSFS 2024/2020 also has a vast ecosystem of major 3rd party devs all actively developing aircraft exclusively or mostly for the platform. Some of the usual suspects and those trying to push certain agendas will try to tell you that MSFS (2024 or 2020) only looks good, or pick on a specific feature/aspect and then go "omg it has careers/missions so it is for gAmErZ oNly!" :), etc. They are best laughed at and ignored. Yes 2024 had far too many bugs for an initial release, but I think with SU2 it is where it should have been on initial release, still lots more issues to fix but as it stands certainly does not take away from having a compelling experience. Given how actively Asobo are churning out the fixes, and like in 2020 future SUs and updates will have both fixes and free enhancements/feature-paks/add-ons, we have lots to look forward to. April 23, 20251 yr As a GA guy, I totally agree with you. The world is a beautiful place from 1-2000'.
