August 28, 2025Aug 28 I am playing around with settings. I am using Quest 3, Virtual Desktop, and the C172 G1000. For grins I am starting TLOD at 400. But I am getting all sorts of scenery popping, even close to where I am, not off in the distance. I certainly thought that with a TLOD of 400 I would not see that. Thoughts? I didn't think what I said was the least bit controversial or not answering your question (surprised) Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

Are you talking about the pop in when you rotate the view or advance forward? They are two different scenarios: 1st case: How is the offscreen terrain precaching option set? The behavior is different in the two sims: in MSFS the Ultra setting was equal to "don't use", whereas in FS2024 even at Ultra you have trees and other objects popping in when you rotate the view. 2nd case: LOD 400 just means that the area where this pop in occurs is farther from your point of observation, but even at 5,000 ft you can easily identify the radius beyond which terrain is flat and 3D assets are not present. This is an intrinsic limitation of the engine, you will always have pop in. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

That’s the difference between having a pilot/engineer at the helm (Austin Meyer), vs a business manager (Jorg). I don’t understand why this is still an issue either. It's pretty pointless having a TLOD of 400 at those sorts of altitude. Your system is simply struggling to deal with that level of detail in VR. The best way to get the most out of your settings is to start low and gradually increase things depending on performance.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 Yup, popup LoD is the main reason I quickly uninstall each time after trying a new update. They need to stop catering to console limits and give PC users FULL graphic control.

Someone on the official forums politely made reference to this with exact examples, but alas the thread was closed 🙄 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

The scenery is so bad in X Plane, how can you tell if things are popping in or not?
