iniBuilds shares A340 deep dive video

Featured Replies

All this marketplace burned statements are quite interesting. Especially the myth that it takes months or ages to get updates. What most people still not get is that the problems for delays are mostly not on Masobo side but on dev side. If you have setup your marketplace process correctly you can get a fix out on the next day if you follow the submission dates. Otherwise if you miss the submission window max four days to get your update out. Sure there were hiccups especially in the beginning but that is mostly issues of the  past.

And Ini stated it will be marketplace only for the first months and then avail via their store also (even with transfer of license if I heard correctly).

A showstopper for me actually would be performance AND no proper Winwing MCDU support. I read on their discord some vague statements that its worked one but promises in this regard have been made and not matched by ini before. And one of the twitch streams showed a black winwing mcdu.

We'll have to wait for first real good reviews to see what the A340 can hold up or not. Until now I'm happily flying Toliss A340 and def keeping an eye on the -600 offering coming from them to MSFS in near future.

Cheers T.

Marketplace timed exclusive is a non issue - and honestly, I hope the marketplace improves and becomes a good place to buy stuff. I’m tired of running multiple launchers just to keep track of the stuff I buy (contrail, ini, orbx, simarket, then just flight account .. ). As long as they continue to have a choice, and don’t force the use of marketplace, I’m ok with it.

Yup definitely a wait and see, and if it's good enough and not as buggy as the A350 was on release then I'll likely grab it, even if it's only available on the MP for the first few months (especially since my license would transfer over to also apply to the ini store once it's available there). I certainly don't mind to contribute to the MP as that just means more funding for the core sim which in the end benefits us all. Also looking forward to the -600 especially since it's Aerosoft doing all the visuals and Toliss doing the systems and flight model (can't go wrong with that combo 🙂)

It's not just about delays getting updates.  There are a handful of other valid and demonstrated drawbacks to using marketplace.  All one has to do is search for it.

Then they seem not to affect me or a lot others. As I have no drawback I don't need to search for them. But that's the good thing we have options and even if it is to wait two months to get it on their own store. And lets be honest, two months for an ini plane is still not enough time to fix the initial problems usually 😉

Cheers T.

yeah agree on that.  This plane is a might buy, but still undecided.  So waiting a few months is no big deal for me.  Quite frankly I'm a little airbussed out at the moment.

I‘ll wait. Got the A350 early. Don‘t want to talk bad about it, it‘s usable and okay. But it was not worth the 90€+ I paid for it.

If the A340 turns out to be good and reasonably priced I will get it eventually at some time.

But for now.. If I feel the need to spend money on my sim, I‘d rather invest in hardware nowadays, which is more and more affordable thanks to WinWing and co. Brings more immersion for me in the long term than a maybe another overpriced addon.

If I‘m wrong and it turns out it is a great product, I‘ll happily buy it, after it will be available outside of the marketplace. I won‘t buy marketplace only stuff ever again, the only late exception was the Citation X.

Def agree... Having the Winwing FCU+EFIS and the MCDU makes it so more immersive to fly a Bus of that period. And that's def the point if INI doesn't start to support the MCDU properly it will be a clear pass! And I don't need simappro support, I would be perfectly happy to use mobiflight but its still on INI to support the basics like all other named devs already do.

It's crazy how quickly IniBuilds pop these aircraft out.

The 3rd MCDU doesn't work, similar to the default a330. It feels like they reused a lot of the code and it's more of a skin of that bird.

That’s for performance reasons. Nothing to do with reused code. Displays in MSFS are still expensive on performance. Plus apparently it’s very rarely used by pilots anyways.

Lol marketplace, yeah no thanks.

BrammyH“My bet is because they are using a lot of the default bird code, MS wants a cut.“

It actually makes 100% sense on why it’s going to be a marketplace exclusive, and not even available on their own store!

eww.  Yeah marketplace is a likely pass for me.

it’s only a few months temporary exclusivity, not its entire life time.

several streamers are flying the bird right now

Watching Emi's stream. Looks pretty impressive to me.

If the price is right I'll be getting this. I prefer to buy from the Marketplace; I've never had a problem with it and I'm investing in the future development of the sim.

It’s confirmed that you will be able to transfer your purchase to the ini manager once the exclusivity is up

Great, marketplace only during a "few months". Thank you Microsoft, whatever you put your finger on definitely gets noticed. In a BAD way.

Christ.

Looking at the Pre-release youtube footage of flight simmers flying it, the Sounds are horrible, rehashed from A350. It feels like a A340 Skin rather than built from ground up

On discord, there is at least one person who is still waiting for months for that to happen with some other addon. It's not a quick nor easy process it seems. I'd rather just wait even if it is way way up on my airliner preference.
