msfs2024 I personally find it runs great on my system, I think a lot of people experiencing problems but not everyone is due to them having old systems and crappy internet

to my big surprise, it is working perfectly on my extremely poor 13mb/s internet connection. I can't believe it! It is contrary to all expectations. The scenery is beautiful, no stutters, no blurries.

I've been using MSFS 2024 with very few issues since Day 2.

Unfortunately, a lot of folks continue to spread fake news and misinformation about the state of MSFS 2024.

The vast majority of problems that people had or are having are entirely due to local setups: busted PCS, software issues, incompatible addons, unwillingness to learn how the camera system/control scheme works, "crazy settings" instead of "smart settings", etc.

Yeah, it works great. Naturally the people who are enjoying it don't feel the need to talk about that - we are busy flying! So the people who have issues are disproportionately represented (this happens in all communities - see the MacRumors forums).

Hello,

Thank you guys for your kind words. I feared that someone would accused me of being an Asobo troll...

I built my PC which is dedicated to FS 20 and now 24. I try not to use it for anything else to keep windows 11 as much clean as possible. I am a bit paranoid as far as computer security is concerned 🙃

I can't think of a single reason to keep flying MSFS 2020 with 2024 available - assuming you have decent hardware specs.  2024 certainly has had its growing pains, but it is at a very usable state now.  SU4 (which should go live any day) brings some substantial improvements to the sim as well (many of us running MSFS2024 are using the beta SU4 branch of the sim already).

I have 2024 installed and I've started it a few times to handle updates and learn about it.

The reason I'm still using 2020 is simple - there is a TON of work to do in transitioning my control options, aircraft, add-ons, learn the new GUI, etc.  Right now I just don't have the time for all of that with my work schedule and other commitments.

2020 is running great and I can hop in for a quick flight every day.  I hope to finish all the set-up and learning with 2024 within a few weeks.  If I'm lucky, I may be able to run a couple of flights by Christmas.

Yes, there are reasonable reasons.. but we are really talking about the unreasonable crowd here. The one who simply cannot move on from 2020 no matter what, and feel the need to constantly bash 2024. Which is not the same as pointing out issues/bugs, or even criticizing. That's fine. It's the flat out bashing that gets boring.

Thankfully though most of those have disappeared. It was so much worse at one point. I guess they've either been banned or or have found another forum, either of which I'm good with.

Consider yourself a one in a million guy!  Enjoy.

Let me guess, you held on to FSX for two years after MS2020 was released because you couldn't accept that something was better?    Like it or not, 2024 is superior.   Took way too long and it never should have been released in the condition it was but it's a solid sim and is only going to get better, while on the flip side, more and more devs will stop releasing content for 2020, as it starts to fade off into the sunset.

Performance is not an issue at all at this point. My issue is memory usage, and I'm hoping that the efforts to shoehorn MSFS into Xbox and PS5 will attract time and resources into memory management that would probably not otherwise be allocated so aggressively.

Nice! 2020 works great and there a few high(er) fidelity planes still limited to 2020 only. The good news with 2024 is you can export/import bindings. The bad news is when you forget to change a profile to your "generic" twin prop vs airliner etc. oh wow I do that all the time. My fault.  I ended up not using most buttons on my alpha/bravo, rudders, keyboard and keep mouseclicks for most of my button pushing. Keeping it simple myself. I like your style.

Ah, no need for that. Some people just love what they have. I still had XP for years into msfs and still love it. This is no place for a bash fest against basically the same simulator (2020/2024). 2020 has its good points as well. But I digress, 2024 is the future and its been my favorite for the last 8 months. It took a bit to gain traction. Another argument not entirely in your favor considering you admitted its not-so-great release and early updates... 🙂

Good news! The latest SU4 beta release (.30) should have fixed most of that.

I hope
