Live traffic ship is working for me.

Not just for you. It always worked. The model matching is spotty, but the ships are where they are supposed to be.

I would really love to see GAIST working properly in MSFS 2024 in AI Offline mode. This was one of those issues that delayed my switch to the new simulator.

I really hope that Hendrik can get GAIST working in MSFS 2024 at some point. Global Shipping 24 is OK, but it has a limited number of ship types, and seems to be restricted to specific areas. When I h

I'll probably just pick up the payware for now. Thanks everyone.

So is GAIST working now for anyone post SU5? All I see are the Seafront Vessels but zero from GAIST when I check LNM, settings are all correct for GAIST 🤔

I see no GAIST ships... have tried every setting I can find..

BGL traffic is still disabled in 2024.

Only way you'll be able to see the GAIST ships is by using the online ship traffic, or going back to 2020.

How do I turn on this online traffic?

It's tied to the same option as online air traffic, under Online settings.

Do I get to see GAIST ships, or asobo ships? And if the latter, do I need to turn off GAIST for it to work?

You'll see both.

I would love to see the GAIST ships return, but it needs to be in AI Offline mode.

No it's not. It has it's own toggle in the menu.

Hi Bert. What they're talking about is under: General -> Online -> Traffic Type -> Real Time Online/AI Offline (experimental)/Off.

Note that the Traffic Type setting makes no distinction between AI Air Traffic and AI Shipping traffic. so the setting you choose here effects both.

If you use Real Time Online, you'll see lots of GAIST ships, in their real life positions, but the data feed gives no indication of type or size, and just about all boats and ships over 30 feet these days have transponders. The result, especially visible in busy harbours, is that you get huge oil tankers and container ships stacked up on top of each other like cordwood, where there should be just pleasure and fishing boats. But if you use AI Offline, you hardly see any GAIST ships at all. Hendrik could only suggest using Real Time Online when flying over open ocean, and switching to AI Offline when over harbours.

Personally, I went to using the payware Seafront Simulations. It's OK, with good ship models, and fills the oceans with ships, but not as complete coverage as GAIST. They get around the shipping problem by using an outboard app that doesn't use the sims own AI shipping engine. But if GAIST ever got working properly in 2024, I would go back to using it.

From the top of my head I believe it's under the graphic settings. Where all the other settings for traffic density and quality are.

Can't be that hard to find.
