The OP was a saying he has this installed and is not seeing anything. What settings in MS2024 do you have set to see them?

The OP is using the freeware GAIST, not Seafront's Global Shipping.

I would really love to see GAIST working properly in MSFS 2024 in AI Offline mode. This was one of those issues that delayed my switch to the new simulator.

I really hope that Hendrik can get GAIST working in MSFS 2024 at some point. Global Shipping 24 is OK, but it has a limited number of ship types, and seems to be restricted to specific areas. When I h

You would have thought that MS/Asobo could have developed a working AI Offline mode for the sea traffic. Not everyone wants Live this and Live that.

I am going to try disabling the default ships using the Content Manager utility.  Has anyone tried this / or know if it will create havoc?

I never thought to try that.

I honestly like GIAST more than the SeaFront because I get the real world modelled Lakers in the Great Lakes but then I also have 1,000s of yatchets everywhere which looks awful.

An interesting idea I had once as well but never tried. Would be very interested in the outcome, so plz share here if you tried it.

Nothing works for me. Traffic set to offline and ships set to ultra and nothing, not a single one. I've also tried online and get none. GAIST 7.1 is active in 2024 community folder and shows active in content.xml so I have no idea why it's not working. I've disabled all the Asobo ships hoping to only see GAIST but no luck getting any ships to spawn.

I think it is from SU4 that Asobo disabled BGL traffic from working. Prior to that both bgl AI ship and Aircraft worked fairly well.

I also went with Global Shipping because I dont want the drawbacks of AI Online Ship Traffic. Global Shipping has massively less ships (around 90) versus GAIST (more than 1000 if I am not wrong), but at least they are visible using AI Offline 😉

I’ve been messing around with both after seeing the GS24 trailer. Tried GAIST in MSFS2024 but didn’t see much in offline, and live traffic felt a bit hit-and-miss. Having 1,000 ships sounds cool (kind of a museum-level addon, right?), but since most are spread around the world, I guess you’d have to fly everywhere to really see them? I ended up sticking with GS24.

Fewer ships, but it seems plenty, they’re adding more, and they actually show up which is what I care about and look great too. Haven’t tried landing on any yet though.

Sorry - I realised what I wrote. I meant fewer ship variants not fewer ships. there seems to be waaay more in Seafront's traffic.

Also, I don't seem to be able to edit my post (noob) so apologies for quoting myself lol 😬

Purchased Seafront. Don’t need anything on in MSFS2024 settings for it to work. Totally independent. So far very pleased.

I'm seeing some default Asobo ships with Offline AI enabled, but I've yet to see any GAIST ships.

I do see GAIST ships using live ship traffic

Does Seafront use BGL traffic files? How are the ships injected?

Not going to buy it. Why pay for 90 ships when you can get way more for free, but I'm curious why it works and GAIST doesn't.

90 ships is better than nothing.. in my opinion. i love what Hendrik did with his models but without seeing them there is not much left of his addon. GS is working fire and forget and that is what i am looking for.

I just use live ship traffic, and then I see plenty of the GAIST models.

Though some places, like Singapore I do need to disable sea traffic or my FPS tanks

But yeah it seems BGL traffic broke at some point. I haven't used AI Offline since GAIST was updated to work with live traffic. But I do remember the 2020 version working fine in 2024 at launch.
