GAIST v7.1 in MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

I have installed GAIST v7.1 in MSFS 2024, but I am not seeing any ships. I have Online/Traffic Type set to "AI Offline", and Sea Traffic set to "Ultra". The "gaist-ultra-V7_1" folder is in my Community2024 folder.

I would really love to see GAIST working properly in MSFS 2024 in AI Offline mode. This was one of those issues that delayed my switch to the new simulator.

I really hope that Hendrik can get GAIST working in MSFS 2024 at some point. Global Shipping 24 is OK, but it has a limited number of ship types, and seems to be restricted to specific areas. When I h

With AI Offline you get little to no traffic, with AI Online you get tons of it. But sadly also lakes full of huge yachts you would never see there in RL.

Curious about that as well. I have it saved on my wish list at Contrail.

I’ve got mine set to online and not seeing any either….part of my transition to 2024 troubleshooting list!

I went with Global Shipping in the end and it is totally independent of the sim ai traffic settings.

I also went with Global Shipping because I dont want the drawbacks of AI Online Ship Traffic. Global Shipping has massively less ships (around 90) versus GAIST (more than 1000 if I am not wrong), but at least they are visible using AI Offline 😉

The OP was a saying he has this installed and is not seeing anything. What settings in MS2024 do you have set to see them?

New to MS2024 as well, what are the drawbacks?

Yeah there's no way to see gaist and not see stupid default AI yachts everywhere

I may also just buy the global shipping.  They look pretty good, have wakes, have night lights and some have landable helipads.

I hope that KA791 (sorry, I forgot his real name) can work out how to get the GAIST ships to display properly in "AI Offline" mode, because I really enjoyed that package in MSFS 2020. I also appreciate all of the effort and dedication that the GAIST team have put into that addon over the past few years.

Do the global packages include the smaller location specific ones by Seafront or are they additional ones to add more detail? For e.g they offer a Canary Islands package.

You cant have AI online ship traffic without default yachts all around lakes e.g. and of course you have comparable matching issues as for AI plane traffic. And with AI offline ship traffic, you get close to no ships.

No, global shipping covers just the major shipping lanes.
