Is Majestic Q400 dead?

Featured Replies

If you have some deep love for that aircraft what about the XP12 option, don't own it but FlyJSim is well regarded? Flying XP12 is certainly a much nicer environment than P3D, lol.

I'm over it at this point... It was an amazing plane in the FSX/P3D platforms though and I really miss it's unique complex character.

  • I truly believe we won't ever see a Majestic product in MSFS. The Q400 (from any reputable dev) is a big miss.

  • So, thus far this magic thread has lead to a resurrection of the Majestic Q400…and now the announcement of a top tier 787, all within 24 hours. Quick, someone make another wish…..

I sometimes wonder which aircraft we will see first? Quality Wings 787 or Majestic Q400?

Seriously, I don't count anymore on both those aircrafts. If they see the light one day, great. If not, well there are so many good aircrafts available now. It's not like the first days of msfs when the only available payware aircraft was the CRJ.

Well that’s strange.
The exact same day @micstatic asks the question if anyone has heard anything because there’s been no response from the developers for months, the developers put out the above update statement.

I wonder if @micstatic could share his thoughts on this weekends upcoming lottery results? 🤣

I would love to win the lottery.  Unfortunately it seems like the plane is still stuck and I wonder if it will even be out in 2027

They are reading this forum, do doubt about that. And for me it is a good news.

But will the product be released some day. Perhaps, but who knows how long (years) it will take. I have never owned their Dash (or any Dash), but I will be more than tempted to purchase it if it really is that good. But I am not holding my breath…

Anyone remembers their Q300, I think for FSX? It was a highly regarded simulation, but only had 2D panels, no virtual cockpit. They were talking about getting a full model out for P3D, and I think there was some talk about MSFS as well. The Q400 in P3D is one of my all-time favourites, but I stopped holding me breath long ago.

It’s good to hear it’s not dead, but unfortunate to hear they’re not open to partnerships to push the last bit over the finish line in a timely manner.  And as long as it’s in this state, no one else will dare put any time/money into developing a Q400.

The Q400 is an integral part of Canadian aviation, much more than most countries, so I’m eagerly awaiting one for MSFS.

I had a feeling Majestic were still working on the Q400, lol.  It's about 8 months since their last update?  8 months is a long time for an update, but I think we have to go maybe 1.5 years or 2 years without an update, before getting real worried.

I remember I posting a comment about Quality Wings going silent and maybe having financial trouble, and I got way more flack than than MicStatic posting this thread, lol:

In the case of Quality Wings, there was stronger evidence that they had given up on their 787 for MSFS. With Majestic, I don't see the red flags that I did see with Quality Wings, although I have to admit, 8 months of radio silence is a little concerning.  Anyways, Majetsic is just slow.

I’m glad there are no (obvious) red flags about the Q400, despite the 8 months of radio silence.

Regarding the QW 787, in FSX/P3D times, it was a rather long wait (if not the longest for a new product in my case). There was a gap of 8 years from their 757 to the 787, but I don’t recall when the 787 was announced to be their next product.

Anyway, with my already chosen username…🙂…, I had no choice but to wait for their 787-8 (they did have decent versions of both the -8 and -9, with lots of beautiful repaints on their website, I recall).

In MSFS2020, I held my hope for several years for them to re-appear, but eventually gave up, and learned to be content with flying the 787 from MSFS/Asobo. However it’s not a 787-8…Oh well. It will have to do for now…

There is a 787-8 mod that works for MSFS 2024, but you need to use the MSFS 2020 787 in MSFS 2024. More information on it here:

A real Q400 pilot post vids of the FlyJSim on Youtube and he really appreciates it as well as the Majestic.

Thanks, @abrams_tank.

I’m on Xbox/Marketplace. Also, I have been looking (and waiting) for a 3rd-party (QW-like) 787 SIM for MSFS, not the default 787 Mods, of which I’m aware.

It’s not a big deal. I can fly the (Asobo) 787-10 for now. It flies well for me in the Xbox and I enjoy it.

Cheers…!

While we wait ( potentially forever...) I highly recommend the FlyJsim Q400 for XP12.
