Don't make it another dull thread where you go on about how bad MS2024 is, how you're clever because you're sticking with MS2020, and how MS are evil for "not supporting" MS2020. This thread isn't about your sim choices, yet you've dragged the last 5 posts into it. Give it a break - please. At this point, 2020 is holding devs back. Just yesterday I listened to Torsten talking about the loops he had to go through to get the A340 working in 2020. Hoops that could have been circumvented if 2024 was the only version he had to work with. One of the most glaring limitations of 2020 is the fact that it can only simulate two ailerons per plane, while 2024 facilitates any amount. Pmplayer has convinced himself that staying with 2020 is what's best and that's fine but we have to be able to see the bigger picture. More on topic, I'm really excited for this bird! The MS Livestream tomorrow should be interesting. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

Not to mention there's too much differences between the sim from a development standpoint to continue trying to support both. March 17Mar 17 Wait until the modern pilots aka Children of the Magenta Line, try there hands at using the INS system to navigate. I can see the new pilot on vatsim getting lost or confused when they are given a "direct to" or "cross xxxx at" from ATC. Granted iniBuild added a GPS and other features but this plane will be a learning curve for those who only know the FMC/MCDU and the Magenta Line. For those who master it, it will bring a whole new level of immersion to the hobby. In my youth, a lot of plane-spotters (poor ones) used to casually misidentify the DC-10 and the Tristar. I couldn't understand it, and I was always correcting them and explaining how to easily spot the differences. The funny thing is, after all these years, someone (in good faith) tried to do the same to me earlier in this thread - they sounded just like me years ago! I love the Tristar, and my old aerospace company I was employed by used to build parts for them. It was also the second aircraft I ever flew on (Caledonian Airlines from London Gatwick to Toronto). Looking at the model brings back lots of great memories. Very sentimental. I will surely buy it just for that reason. And iniBuilds are fairly decent (in my opinion of course). Certainly the model looks gorgeous, and being iniBuilds, they won't neglect the updates. I love the DC-10 as well. I hope we get to see one in the sim as well eventually. The MS Livestream tomorrow should be interesting. Yeah. I mean, I can see people having justified complaints if MSFS 2020 is taken offline, and I'm okay if some folks get upset if a made-for-2020 addon stops being supported in 2020... And of course, for those who are satisfied with 2020 and want to stick with it - absolutely all good! But this obsession with backporting v24 features to v20, and insisting that 2024 addons also include 2020 versions, and all that stuff...? Like you said, it's time to move on from all that. v2020 isn't dead, but we don't need to pretend it needs the same level of developer attention from 3PD's OR Asobo.

Luckily for me, all those old .mil addons I fly have already introduced me to the "pleasures" of INS 😎

Not to mention my gradually degrading vision! 🤪 In re DC-10, it's good to know that Aero Dynamics are still plugging away at it. And given how surprisingly sophisticated their "test mule" T-38C systems & physics have turned out, I'm pretty sure they're on track to deliver a Hi Fi DC-10, too! It's just a matter of when (as always 😁) ETA: And it seems like the (K)DC-10 is truly a passion project for them: ANYHOW: back to the L1011, I just wanted to spread some additional Tri-Jet love! 🙂 Edited March 17Mar 17 by UrgentSiesta
