It's not a DC-10... It's Tristar. They are not the same aircraft. Not even the same company.🤦‍♂️

Safe to say that out of all the third party devs, MS is tightest with iniBuilds at this point.

Yes, and that is why the Bird not get released for MSFS2020, i bet if they not it would be released for 2020 - so it’s all a deliberate and calculated move to push everything towards MSFS2024, but not with me – I won’t be switching to MSFS2024 until SU7 or SU8 is out, and by then the first updates for the L-1011 will be available too, so I’ll be on the safe side then !!

And let’s be honest, this is a right mess, because everyone bought MSFS 2020 and it still deserves support, given that at least half of all users are still using it. Shame on MS for handling this the way they have…🫣

It's all just about the bloody money..

cheers 😑

?? They're still pushing updates to 2020. One came out not too long ago.

They've even been back porting some of the 2024 aircraft.

World Updates and City Updates still release for both as well.

You're missing out. The sim is in a solid state now. Better than 2020 in everyway.

Yuup, one a year- maybe - but that is OK, i don`t need any updates for 2020 because it is pretty stable and fine to us, i already don`t know what a "crash to desktop" is ore something like this and that is what i need from a Simulator where i do long haul flights almost all the time..

cheers 😉

The sooner 2020 goes the way of the dodo the sooner MSFS 2024 will become the sim we all want it to be.

And no it is not all about the money, instead it's about using resources in a logical way.

Can’t say I’ve ever had one in 2024, and I do long hauls in the 340 and MD-11 all the time.  Glad that companies aren’t developing for P3D or 2020 anymore and focusing on the future.  You simply can’t do what you can in 2024 in any other sim.

It will be mine soon or later...

My only regret is that the L-1011-1 is not included.

So shame on Asobo for not supporting 2020 (Not that that's true) but also you don't need any updates?

I understand some simmers are new to the whole gaming world but 4 years is a very normal product life cycle time for these kinds of things.

2024 is where the money is, simple. Not to mention there's too much differences between the sim from a development standpoint to continue trying to support both.

Yes, a business is going to primarily focus on.. money. While I'm not the biggest fan of it, this is the bottom line at the end of the day and FS24 provides a better bottom line for developers and I really doubt anyone here is going to donate enough to these developers to ensure the lights stay on.

I've long viewed MSFS as a subscription model - even if you don't play through Game Passes

MSFS as a service (the name may vary) costs €79.99 every 48 months for the basic tier (if you 'buy' it), making it significantly cheaper than Netfl...umm: Navigraph.

Not to mention that FS forums offer virtually unbeatable entertainment value. 😉

I am probably not the best person to answer this (considering that I only perform very short flights), but I have never had a CTD in either MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024. I have never experienced a WASM crash either. Lucky me, eh?

As someone who has flown on the L-1011 I’m am super excited to finally see a high quality Tristar coming to FlightSim. The L-1011 has always been my favorite planes to this day.

My dad was UAL, so I only got to ride DC-10’s.

But he always said he liked the aircraft design even if it ended up “losing” that competition.

I personally prefer its aesthetics to the DC-10.

interested to see how this addon turns out, tho I’m not much into Flight Engineer functions.

Are we STILL doing this…? 🤷‍♂️

Given the well publicized differences in development, I don’t blame ANY developer who’s “abandoned” 2020.
