Do you still use an abacus or do you now have a calcutor? Rotary dial phone still or push button on your landline? Black and white TV or color?  2020 is horse and buggy. Time to buy a car.

Let's be honest here: This is kind of demand and reaction is an ever perpetuating cycle. It happens everytime a new simulator version comes out.

I entered into the is ecosystem with FS2004 and have witnessed the same behaviour from some users with every new iteration, from FSX to the switch to P3D and its versions and now with MS2020 to MS2024. 

Some people refuse to move on in time and instead expect continuous support for the older platform they cling to.

It's realistic to expect a grace period but it usually does not last longer than 18 months. By that time developers have fully moved on. We are nearing this point, so its time the stragglers move on as well.

And if they don't want to they should just stop moaning about having been abandoned and left behind.

This whole topic has shifted away from the L-1011 to, MSFS2020 vs MSFS2024, DC-10 vs L-1011. Can we get back on topic for those of us who are interested in the upcoming release.

little WASM in the Tristar, most are sim systems. And the little WASM it does use, if it does crash you won't lose your flight.

Will be out this month, no exact date yet. 2024 Marketplace only for a few months just like the 340.

I'm watching. I'm disappointed that the initial release will be on the Marketplace only in the beginning. I hate Marketplace as it's slow to get updates and there were times where I couldn't purchase items due to a MP glitch. I've even repurchased items when they became available on the Devs internal applications just so I didn't have to deal with MP. Such a shame to have to wait a few months to enjoy the L-1011. 

Only way I'll buy it is I can transfer it off Marketplace when it comes to the iniManager.

... and now the Tristar after the 707 and Dc-9, but why on earth does nobody gets us a decent DC-8? Like the freeware DC-8s from HJG ages ago.

They were pretty quick on updates to the MP with the a340. Also, transferring it over to the Ini store when it was available was very simple. Took about 24 hours and all I had to do was send a screenshot.

I think they have an arrangement with MS to get the updates through faster.

Good to know. I was unaware of this as I don't own the A340. Everything iniBuild has produced, I have purchased directly from them. I avoid the Marketplace at all cost. It's such a pain dealing with or getting ahold of someone at MS when you have issues or you can't purchase something due to a glitch on there end.

I was able to do the same with upgrading the A300 to Premium, as I was in a hurry for a native 2024 aircraft with the new flight model.
Relatively painless process.

Right now, I’m really in no hurry for another airliner (even as cool as this one is), so I’m perfectly content to wait.
