I think some simmers are really getting carried away - at the end of the day we're sitting in a chair in front of a PC - not even the highest end addons are close to actual flying. This addon cost les

"Silly"? Really? He may well be a great guy and fun to know in person, but personal styles and all that. I have a VERY hard time watching him for more than a few minutes, without thinking - could you

  • Another video was posted an hour ago.  bit more than the 45 second 'cinematic' one above. Lot's of views of the nice eye candy.  Looks great!

Very interesting explanations. So basically the unstable landing behaviour was a combination of user’s sensitive rudder hardware and the spoilers which act as a lift dump on landing , thus stabilising the aircraft on touchdown in crosswinds , not deploying as they have been bound to an axis.

There’s also an explanation that as the spoilers are aerodynamically correct for ground operations they are exaggerated for in flight use, and the base sim doesn’t allow developers to differentiate. This would explain the 27,000fpm rate of descent mentioned elsewhere.

Thanks John, since I don't have time to watch a 3 hour youtube filled with t-shirt sales and what not.😁

Many of the default paints are great except for the big, blocky white tail numbers. So I cleared out the tail number in the plane identity. Now I can use those beautiful paints.

Hi, can you please disable all third party repaints and check the default paints again? We got some reports that some 3rd party liveries from .to seem to overwrite the dynamic reg settings leading to the observed behaviour.

Cheers T.
Remember to update the plane is easier when streaming. Regarding anyone using spoilers binds with axis, these will not work anymore by design, this is to allow the phenom computer to manage them accordingly like in real life.

To use spoilers with binds, use the correct events, Toggle, or 1 button to extend and 1 button to retract.

The spoilers are a button (close / open) not a lever axis.
Should we, or should we not bind a button to the spoilers? Given that this is now automatic (as the real plane), do we even need to bind it? Or is it ok to bind a button.

I just left them completely unbound and they will work how they are supposed to work but it sounds like you can in fact bind a button. They are not realistic if you need to use them in the air anyway, I have not needed them at all even though you do need plan to get below 180 for Flaps 1...

So what are the recommended settings for sensitivity with Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo and Charlie hardware.

I have unbound my spoiler axis but ground handling after landing is all over the place.

Same with taking off, gradually pulling back on yoke for smooth rotation and it leaps into the air like there was a bomb under it.

The handling is not realistic to me. I'm sure if the real aircraft behaved like this, the NTSB would need to triple its staff!

Ok, that's awesome. If it doesn't have detents in the RW then it's been modelled correctly which is great!

Sorry for the late response. I've been off on a camping/cycling trip and (blissfully!) away from the internet for the last week plus.

I'm happy to have the throttles behave as they would in the RW as well. However, note that there is at least agreement that there is indeed a detent for the TOGA position, which is actually the one I find most needed. So it is not, in fact, modeled accurately.

No matter. As far as I'm concerned, I've said my piece on the developer's Discord and been told it ain't happenin'. I've accepted that position and moved on. If it bugs me enough, I can always buy the Prodesksim mod for my Bravo and have physical detents. I mean, hey it's only $109 (cough - not happening - cough!).

And for what it's worth, I still love the plane. Sometimes that gets lost when we start to dive into the details and nuances.
