Phenom 300 soon? (released 18 May 26)

No response at all from either engine.

That happened to me on my first try as well. But then I watched the video tutorial about the power up and start up procedure and just made sure I followed the checklist and then it worked.

I can't tell which items exactly caused it to work, but I do know that I had definately missed at least 2 items on my first try without the checklist.

So whatever it was and whatever it is that is happening in your case, it is most certainly some system that we neglected to turn on or to auto before trying to start the engines.

That being said I was quite surprised that those engines don't need bleed air support to start. That's a first for me.

I think some simmers are really getting carried away - at the end of the day we're sitting in a chair in front of a PC - not even the highest end addons are close to actual flying. This addon cost les

  • Another video was posted an hour ago.  bit more than the 45 second 'cinematic' one above. Lot's of views of the nice eye candy.  Looks great!

Thank you for the reply, but I have followed the instructions in the manual, the batteries are on, I have selected the engines, one at a time to start. They don't even try to start. Don't even crank. No response at all from either engine.

Are you starting with a tail wind? They may not start if so.

I am also struggling to start it. I just finished my third try using the checklists.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

I brought this up on the discord just prior to launch. This behavior was seen in the preview videos and I was quickly met with resistance from Raul. I bought the plane myself and dialed the sensitivity way back, but it’s still there. Admittedly I was a bit frustrated to have observed this behavior and asked the question about it, only for it to be quickly brushed off.

This surprises me about the response. Taxi behaviour is great but takeoff roll and landing rollout are totally not right. Even with sensitivity risked back in also finding it very unbalanced. There is no way the real aircraft will have wing drop and that kind of roll axis movement on takeoff or landing. Feels more like a tail dragged about to ground loop. There must be some way to adjust this. Otherwise I found the flight model to be what I expected from this type of aircraft—actually very predictable and lovely to fly. Anyway definitely want to add my comment to signal this is a thing. No jet time but I am a pilot.

Still working to get my mind wrapped around this plane. So very different from what I normally fly.

A few roadblocks already... It's definitely a heavy hitter in terms of VRAM compared to my Black Square fleet, and I had to dial texture resolution back a notch to what I used to run in 2020. Win some, lose some, I guess.

The next challenge - loading a SimBrief flightplan. Got my Navigraph account successfully linked, and I can now pull up charts in the EFB so I know the link is valid, but I can't seem to import a flightplan. The manual suggests I have to: "Create a flight plan on SimBrief using the Phenom 300E aircraft profile." Well, there IS a Phenom 300 profile, but not specifically a 300E. When I try to use the 300 profile - designated E55P, the plane doesn't seem to recognize it and throws an error saying I either have an invalid SimBrief user name, which I know isn't true since I can import charts, or there is no flightplan associated with the account, which I know is also not the case. Anyone able to import a SimBrief plan?

Ah, well... I expected a learning curve with a few headscratchers and I'm getting what I expected. One day, I'm sure I'll actually get to fly. I've fueled, have passengers and baggage loaded and the folks in the back are getting impatient!

And yes, I know I could dial things back and just "go fly" to try it out, but that's not how I like to sim, so...

My experience is opposite. On take off rock steady. I'm using Honeycomb Charlie rudder pedals, Bravo throttle and Moza flight stick

The usual thing that will cause the start phase not to start, is a throttle lever just outside of the idle point. This has happened to me occasionally in the X-Plane Embraers. Maybe try assigning a key to set throttles to idle. Then hitting that key.

May I ask what hardware you are using for your rudder input and what sensitivity you are using? Actually to be honest there was no resistance by Raul or you were brusehd off. If you feel like that we are def sorry. Things got actually quite crazy the last days on amount of questions. The problem is there is a lot of hardware around out there and we def can't test all of them. But we have actually 3 quite huge beta teams on the Phenom that are even separated from each other and a handful of active pilots on this type and honestly nobody reported this. I for myself am on quite old and noisy CH Pro pedals on default sensitivity and actually don't see this behaviour when you are easy on the rudder and just use the input you need. It def can get tricky both on takeoff and landing (like Murph perfectly showcased with beeing waaaaay to fast on his landing) if you use a bit of too much rudder input and then try to slightly over correct that can lead into quite some squirrely behaviour. Crosswinds come into play also for sure. Nonetheless we will try to collect more feedback on that topic and discuss with our pilots. Any feedback is appreciated and will lead to improvement.

Thanks and Cheers T.

I appreciate the response. I'm currently using the MFG Crosswind pedals. I've had these pedals for several years and I'm comfortable dialing them in and adjusting sensitivity to make an aircraft feel like it's sticking to the ground better. As I mentioned in the original post, I've dialed the sensitivity way back - for me, taxiing feels fine, but at higher speeds on takeoff and landing, it still feels a bit squirrely. This behavior can be visualized on streams and even the previews that were released on YouTube.

To follow up on my comment about resistance and feeling brushed off, we'll have to agree to disagree here, but I'll add a little more context. First and foremost, I respect the hell out of Raul. I think he makes excellent products, but it doesn't mean I wont provide constructive feedback and I think it was pretty obvious by the responses on discord that I was getting a lot of redirection instead of just acknowledging it would be looked into. I was even told to focus on the intended purpose of the video (sounds in this case) instead of other items visible in the video.

" These videos, are done by people that are good at recording scenes, not necessarily flying"
"I'd focus on the sounds which were the intended purpose of the trailer and not read much from the takeoff where we can't judge variables.."
"I have 5 piltos of embraer phenom 300e on the team testing. If the plane flight model was buggered, they would not let me release the plane"

And as soon as I made a comparison so others could have a reference, I was told, "I am not here to discuss others developers products, that's where I draw the line...". I never said anything negative about another developer, in fact I praised them by saying they pushed a patch to correct the behavior. The Aerosoft CRJ and FlightFX Honda Jet both had these same issues and were fixed.

So yeah - I was pretty put off by that, but I decided to be professional about it, apologize for any misunderstandings that may have offended Raul and acknowledged that it was clearly a sensitive topic at the moment. However, the plane is finally released and it's not just me on here saying it's noticeable. Does it ruin the entire product? Absolutely not! It's an observed behavior that might need some more refinement, but in the past I've found Raul to be very receptive, but this time, it was clear he was not receptive to this issue. I'll let that be my final comment on things because I truly respect Raul and his products, but as a customer, I do get frustrated when I'm treated like the casual Xbox gamer who uses a controller when in reality I'm also a RL pilot (not jet rated admittedly) and I've been around for decades as well in flight simulation.

Just been up doing some circuits.

Take off and landing with 15kts crosswind didn’t present any problems using an into wind aileron cross control technique.

Still wind circuits at dusk..the handling was just gorgeous.

So I’m pleased to say personally I’m not seeing any issues with the aircraft’s take off and landing roll handling other than those imposed by the host simulator.

I hope those having issues will see this as a positive

This is my experience too.

I will say that the nose wheel steering (and potentially the rudder on T/O) is quite sensitive. But I've not found it problematically so. I honestly think that some of this squirreliness that we see in MSFS is down to it's poor wind affect depiction. The effects of the wind - in all senses - is just so exaggerated.

My 3 flights in the Phenom so far have been with calm winds. And just as Jon said, it's felt divine to rotate and hand fly. I would bet that when I fly it with anything more than calm winds, I may well find it very squirrelly too.

I don't want to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, but I don't think you need to go into so much detail. You're perfectly entitled to speak up if you see something wrong, and if the developer doesn't like it, well, that's their problem – after all, they all depend on us, their customers, for their livelihood.

Nothing I said was unprofessional, degrading, or disrespectful.... the detail was for context so I could elaborate for another user. I complimented Raul and the team several times... where's the problem? This is a discussion board, is it not?

This is just classic Discord in my experience..

I see this all the time. Users just aren't listened to and are dismissed far too easily (often by a AI bot 🙄).

Just uploaded a video for possible hangar placements at Teterboro airport using the FBO utility included with the FSR300E. Space is tight at KTEB, but they all fit without intrusion on parking spots.

Please excuse my English – it’s not very good. I just wanted to say that you’re perfectly entitled to offer constructive criticism, as you’ve done.
