I think some simmers are really getting carried away - at the end of the day we're sitting in a chair in front of a PC - not even the highest end addons are close to actual flying. This addon cost les

"Silly"? Really? He may well be a great guy and fun to know in person, but personal styles and all that. I have a VERY hard time watching him for more than a few minutes, without thinking - could you

  • Another video was posted an hour ago.  bit more than the 45 second 'cinematic' one above. Lot's of views of the nice eye candy.  Looks great!

I’ve got nothing against the FSR, the Sting and the M500, and although I like them, I don’t think they’re what I’m looking for right now; they’re not going to make me a custom add-on, of course – there’s a very diverse market out there.

I’m looking for something very specific when buying an add-on, as I’ve bought far too many that I hardly ever use, and I’ve finally realised that I only fly four or five of the ridiculous number I’ve bought across all the simulators.

I still don’t know what level of system detail this aircraft achieves; I’m not interested in FBOs, passengers, or those quirky details that are typical of FSR. I’m looking for simulation fidelity, flight model, depth and realism in systems, realistic engine behaviour, fuel management, ground handling, pressurisation, faults and errors, etc.

I am truly the target customer because I have been waiting a long time for a high-fidelity business jet for MFS to give the WT Longitude a bit of a rest; I want it to be on a par with, for example, the Torquesim 525 in X-Plane (I know that matching what the CL650 offers is difficult), or at least to be more in-depth than WT’s Longitude; if not, it doesn’t matter – I’ll continue to enjoy the Longitude and the rest of the add-ons I have, and that’s fine.

Let’s see if we can clear things up in a few days once the hype dies down a bit and we can read comments from sensible people rather than the usual exaggerated MFS comments.

I’m with you on may of these ideas (especially the having too many addons that are rarely flown 😂). 🤙

Based on what you’ve shared, I’m thinking the pending Embraer Praetor is going to be the bird for you.

For your preferences, there’s a very high degree of operational overlap between the Longitude and the Phenom. Probably the main differentiator is going to be the limited failures available in the Longitude. I’d also wager, after comparing the Asobo TBM to the FSR500, the Phenoms physics are going to be more satisfying than Longitude’s, as well.

BUT That doesn’t sound like enough differentiation to really push you to the Phenom, at least as we know it before launch.

IMHO you may also be selling the Longitude short relative to the C525 and HotStart 650.

Id wager the Longitude is every bit as sophisticated as the c525, and not as far behind the cl650 as it may seem.

The big limitation with the Longitude in these comparisons is that WT hasn’t the physics visualization interface that HotStart, A2A, and Black Square offer.

Indeed, Nick from Black Square said his previous addons all had that stuff going on behind the scenes, but he felt the need to “prove it” to prospective buyers and so added the tablet views in later.

If you haven’t already, look up Nischans 2 hour video on the breadth and depth of the Longitude’s fidelity. It’s incredibly impressive for any addon, let alone a Default jet.

Now, if you want a Tier 1 peer to the other Hi Fi biz jets in XP or FS2024, AND you want it now, then the Phenom is a great choice.

(I’d also add the BS Starship in to the mix. Amazingly detailed simulation, if one doesn’t mind the retro & highly specialized avionics.)

But since it’s so similar to the also-excellent Longitude, I’d say it’s safe to continue with the Longitude until the Praetor arrives.

Just watched the first half hour of Two Tone Murphy's stream.

This is much, much more than just an aeroplane and all created within the MSFS2024 SDK? Astonishing.

EGTU Dunkeswell is never going to be the same when I've finished with it.😃

Just watched some of the live stream and I have to point out the same sensitivity was visible on landing where the plane struggled to stay on centerline. This is the same sensitivity other planes were plagued with. I suspect this will be one of the items that gets some quick feedback after launch.

Actually this news was posted hours ago. Either way, new news or old, I look forward to its release and my purchase of the Phenom 300E. YMMV. TANSTAAFL. Blue skies,

yes it was noticed by others watching the stream, dunno why they insist on releasing it that way but that is what's coming out the box it would seem.

looks as if its the weight transferring back and forth from left to right following some rudder input after touchdown, as if the balance is unstable from main wheels being too close together (just saying thats what it reminds me of).

Hoping Raul will fix it… just need him to be receptive to the idea that it needs to be fixed.

"Silly"? Really?

He may well be a great guy and fun to know in person, but personal styles and all that. I have a VERY hard time watching him for more than a few minutes, without thinking - could you please just skip all the chatter and GET TO IT! I've never lasted watching his videos for more than a few minutes before I lose patience and give up, despite being interested in the subject as I am with the Phenom.

Not my thing. I know others enjoy his work and good for you if you do. I sure wouldn't call you out over it. But I'm not "silly" for having a different opinion.

Scott

100% to Embraer - this has to be the ugliest cockpit I think I've ever seen. I thought the same for the HJet to start with before I got used to it but this is truly fugly. I'll wait for some more objective videos before deciding I think.
