August 20Aug 20 Justflight just uploaded the update. Is there a way to determine that I am flying with the latest version, and not the original version?

Should read - "package_version": "0.1.1", 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

August 20Aug 20 Also the flight model is awesome IMHO. First time ever in MSFS that I feel the same behaviour than in real life during landing, especially with crosswind. My update allowed a custom locationMy update also definitely allowed a custom location! That is so strange. And I definitely have the updated version because all of the changes are there. There's an option on the installer first, express installation and custom installation. When I selected the latter, I was able to set the file path to the desktop. As long as I can keep my hours/state, it isn't a big deal. There's a topic in the JustFlight forums with a few people having the same issue. The only thing the post mentions is maybe something in the registry. I'm guessing it thinks it is in the community folder even though it isn't. I installed to d:\justflight\msfs2024\ and just copied the files where I want them. We'll see if it happens again, but they don't update very frequently anyway. It is still funny to me that MS created a default path that runs into this issue. Maybe I'm just old school, can't we just have simple paths? ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

Maybe I'm just old school, can't we just have simple paths? In this case, it's not the MS part of the path that makes it too long. It's the specific file names of the 3 page graphics from Nick's EFB. Those single file names are very long, and 'tip the file length over the edge'. This is the name of one of those SVG files :- commander114EngineVisualizer_NormallyAspirated.svgThis is one of the 3 files that cause the installer to fail for some of us.(Setting the long file paths option in the registry does not fix this issue for some of us. I already have that set in the registry). I think this may depend on Win 11 version. If Nick could rename those 3 SVG file names to something short and coded, this issue would be resolved.Eg. :- c114EngVis_NA.svg Edited August 20Aug 20 by JYW Bill 😎FS2024 • Currently enjoying : A2A Legacy, Comanche 2024 & Aerostar • Black Square Commander 114, Bonanzas, Barons, C208, TBM850, Dukes • COWS DA40 & DA42 • FSW Legacy, C24R Sierra • Got Friends A32 Vixxen • ISW Evektor EV-97 • FSReborn Sirius TL3000 • Flying Fries Gabriel 160TR • Flyboy Rans S6S • Skyward DA50RG • SWS Zenith CH701, RV-8, RV-10, RV-14 • BRdesign Thorp T-211, AA5 Grumman Tiger • Bagolu C172M & ICP Savannah Currently flying IRL: Evektor EV-97 EuroStar, Pipersport SportCruiser, Aeroprakt A32 Vixxen, Bristell Classic, TL Sirius TL-3000, Rans S6LSTrackIR • BeyondATC • PMS GTN Payware • RealTurb • Axis & Ohs9800X3D • RTX 3080 • 64GB DDR5-6000Former PPL IR, grounded by diabetes. August 20Aug 20 Hard to believe after 30 years that long filenames are still an issue. At the same time programmers have known for 30 years this can be an issue. My favorite part of the update is being able to click on the seat to get in the airplane.Takes so little to make me happy these days. 🤣Well that and the proper engine startup. That was nice. Edited August 20Aug 20 by Ron Lefebvre Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

It is SOOO nice to not have combustion just STOP the moment I move to cutoff. Well done and hope this migrates to other Black Square piston planes. The increased polling rate on the EDM-800 which makes the leaning simulation much better. The new dynamic mag drop which helps make the mag check more than just a checklist item you do because...And finally...The increased speed! Ha, ha just kidding. Had a big tailwind on my flight today and saw over 180 kts groundspeed for the first time - but honest - nothing to do with the update. This plane is making it harder and harder to want to fly any other piston plane I own!Scott
