Is there a conventional cockpit version available? I remember seeing it in the preview screenshots. I'd definitely prefer the steam gauge cockpit paired with the TDS GTN 750.

It is mostly steam (well maybe half steam hehe) but there isn't a TDS option. You can fly with the (really dated and interesting) GNS-XLS which is kinda like an early FMS or you can fly with the "needles" using VOR or LOC - both can fly fully coupled on Autopilot.

I could've sworn in one of the early previews they showed a conventional cockpit with a GTN unit right in the centre. I don't mind the GNS unit. I'm familiar with it as FSS uses it in their 727. However, it looks like it may have a few extra features in the FA50.

You're not thinking of the Flysimware Falcon 50 are ya? That one had GTN 750s

I'm not one of them LOL. The most jet-thing I've flown is the Cirrus Jet (I love calling Vision Jet pilots Cirrus Jet on the freq - they hate it!!) And the SF50 is more like a turboprop anyway haha! Anyway yeah I have no idea but I was just annoyed that this "pro" claims the entire model is meh just because a crazy out of normal flight regime full rudder input doesn't make the plane bank a little bit. Ok like yeah, there maybe should be a little something something but ok... I will never become a flightsim dev.... painting liveries is annoying enough at times. I'll save anyone from guessing... but this 35 USD addon isn't going to be the HotStart challenger. It's still a cool addon though, and well worth the asking price! Aside from my rant, the devs noticed they reversed a variable and have already addressed the issue.

Agree.

Found this response from them to be quite interesting in terms of flight modeling:

YouTuber YourSimCFI recently found a genuine bug: with right rudder input, the left wing dropped instead of the right - incorrect proverse roll. It's real, and it's now fixed. Thanks for catching it before release - this is exactly the kind of thing that's easy to miss and hard to spot.

Somewhere along the way, though, this turned into "the whole flight model is default" or "it's wrong everywhere," and I'd gently push back on that. The flight model was vetted by real FA50 pilots and deemed correct across normal flight regimes. This bug lived in a specific edge case that the validation work didn't center on, which is why it surfaced late rather than never. One bug in one regime isn't the same as a broken model.

For those who want the detail: MSFS builds the flight model from many parameters, wing dihedral being one. The real Falcon 50 has 0 dihedral on paper, but in flight the wings bend slightly upward, so the effective dihedral is a touch positive. We'd set the handbook value of 0 - correct on the ground - but since MSFS calculates this live, it really wants that slightly positive in-flight value. And that mattered: whenever wing_dihedral is 0 or negative, MSFS produces incorrect proverse roll. Setting it slightly positive fixes it. (wing_virtual_dihedral, for those wondering, has no effect once wing_dihedral is 0 or negative.)

So the handbook value is physically correct, but the sim needs the in-flight value to behave right. That's not us faking the model - it's matching what the wing actually does in the air.”

I must be. Although, that one was certainly a few years ago now. Been so many releases and previews recently, it's no wonder I'm confused!

Was wondering how I missed that one. Then realized I had already moved on to MSFS 2020 from FSX by then.

I definitely would have grabbed it for FSX if it weren't released so late in the old platform's game.

so does that mean no rnav/lpv approaches, or does the XLS have them in there?
