Seb described it as a "bug" last year and claimed it was not intentional, yet here we are and still no fix as per Asobos relentlessly sloppy standards.

I would prefer to hear that this is a bug and not something intentional, at least there is hope that maybe someday could be fixed.

HUGE downgrade? Doubtful or maybe a trip to the eye doctor is required.

Truth is that MSFS graphics are still HUGELY superior to any other sim.

I don't think you have XP12 setup properly to say that. MSFS does a great job with artwork, but with the right addons xp12 can look more realistic.

You just explained why most of us only use MSFS.

You don't buy any addons? That's a boring sim. Enjoy!

In terms of storm clouds and mid-day lighting, sure.

But unless I’m flying over the extraordinarily well done Orbx True Earth Great Britain, it’s not even close in terms of total immersion. And even then, I’ve gotta be over 7500’ agl.

But, fly a great addon like the AFL King Air or TorqueSim SR22T, and XP is still a GREAT overall experience. 😎🤙

Amen!

One of my dearest wishes is that Orbx would update the True Earths to XP 12. The XP 11 editions have a slight reddish color cast to them, especially noticeable on sandy areas. And a bit of trouble with legacy water masking.

But sadly, it seems the demand for regional scenery with good overlays just isn’t there any longer…

I don't use other sims than MSFS 2024. It's a why would you question. Life is short. I'm enjoying what I see.

Cheers

A rather extreme example of missing landing gear....... 🤣

It is rather extreme because I have never seen this in my sim. His settings must be way off.

I certainly do not see it like that on my PC, so I have no idea why the landing gear is completely missing from that aircraft. I will ask the question out of curiosity.

It's a trick! Seb added code to make the gear disappear. Keeps Flightsimulator being talked about on social media. It's a way of advertising.

I wanted to come back to this. Sadly I don't have any TLOD 100 pics from 2024's initial release (but it was far more crisp and clear). But what I have here is awful. It's like FSX-era all over. This is only 6000 ft! And directly beneath my plane is the sharpest! When you look to the sides its even worse. These tiles are outside of the TIN areas (those seem to load a little sharper but the warped and melted buildings are really bad).

Sad.

My ground tiles always look good and unlike 2020 no popping.

Not sure what folks are doing but I can't be sad when 2024 looks so darn good.
