  1. Neither "absolutely a must", nor "a must" It's, at best, a "nice to have" (as are, by and large, the hundreds of other features that folks want).
  2. The funny thing is: There are actually quite a few ATC-addons available. The problem is: all of them are awful in one way or the the other (UI, voices, clunky handling, etc.). Some are less awful than others. PRO ATC SR is just plain bad all around. The voices in the video above are no improvement. For now, I'm sticking with default ATC + FS ATC chatter from Stick and Rudder + charts. Gets the job done and gets me to where I'm going. The title of the video is the usual clickbait.
  3. I rarely buy addons for MSFS 2020 anyway, so not really a concern of mine.
  4. 99.999999999% of folks who are interested in buying MSFS probably think that "PAPI lights" is a Reggaeton band, and when they hear "ILS" a puzzled look crosses their face: wait, what? MSFS can do my taxes? If the franchise is to survive, it needs those "mass market $$$" - some of the acquired cash might then trickle down to the hardcore crowd (an extremely small filter bubble); and in order for this to happen, a lot of cash will go to developing free stuff like the Dune or Top Gun Maverick expansions.
  5. I'm hoping that MSFA and Asobo really throw all their expertise and resources behind MSFS 2024. I see no need to support legacy software. "As is" the sim offers plenty, so folks who want to stick with a legacy sim can continue to enjoy it. Some addons will survive the move to MSFS 2024, some won't; some developers will provide free upgrades, other will make a cash dive for your pockets. At any rate, MSFS 2020 already feels like "yesterday's game".
  6. I always install the latest drivers as soon as they are released - never had any issues.
  7. The film is pretty to look at, but otherwise bland and boring. Just like Blade Runner 2049, from the same director, a terrible "take" on the Ridley Scott masterpiece.
  8. Easy answer: Because then they couldn't argue everything to pieces.
  9. Not interested in a subscription, since I don't play video games much between May and October. Prefer to be engaged in outside activities.
  10. This is exactly what's going to bring in the fans and sustain the franchise, not WE FIXED THE PAPI LIGHTS!!!!
  11. Like many/most folks here, the day MSFS 2024 is released, I'll buy it and throw MSFS 2020 off of my hard drive. I'm sure not going to bother with a "legacy sim".
  12. The title of this clickbait video isn't: I'd like to share some concerns, it's BETRAYAL - like some Macbeth type thing is going to happen....and the sim isn't even out yet.
  13. Not sure I understand what the point of this video is. MSFS 2020 is not a "training solution", it's an entertainment product for a "mass audience" = $$$$$
  14. Microsoft and Asobo seem to be fully embracing the idea that MSFS is an immersive game based on a purpose: career mode, different mission types, etc. Instead of starting the game by looking at a silly and clunky "world map", you start in an operations base and select a mission: mountain rescue, business charter, etc. Day 1 purchase for me. Can't wait.
  15. Apple specializes in products that nobody really needs and gets people to spend money they don't really have.
  16. word not allowed, someone just delivered a Mike Tyson first-round knock out......
  17. What's there to discuss? Any day now!
