  1. Put those lines in the p3d.cfg and no errors or warnings when starting a flight at Courtenay (CAH3)
  2. As usual, Nick Needham was way ahead of the game back in May. Follow the procedure and MS WX Wingazi er, intrusion, is foiled. http://www.simforums.com/forums/a-warning-about-ms-updates-for-windows-10_topic52577.html
  3. Early morning sun, Sumatra coffee and new SIMstarter 2.7 for P3Dv3, Now to set up, Thank you so very much for this.
  4. And...quickly rummaging through my ditty for my trusty sextant. Argh!
  5. Hi Pero, Saturday, coffee and SIMstarter with P3D3. Thanks, Clayton
  6. It's a personal preference thing. I'm partial to GEP3D and UTX and use openLC layered in. But be aware that GEP3D and Global Base are incompatible. It's either or. Research, research and don't rush in. They are both happy to sell tomorrow or the day after.
  7. jrhodes is the boss of FlightOne for pete's sake, so he should know.
  8. Exactly Robert, referring to the info text. Silly shadows. How to modify? Hmn...
  9. Mine are displayed quite blurry and small. Can this be changed/fixed?
  10. Do you have a SimConnect.xml in the %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 folder? I had to manually put one there. Other than that it worked just fine.
  11. First, just give P2D v3 a chance. You might be surprised. Clayton
  12. Scenery Solutions UTX is primarily vector graphics and they've been at it since the turn of the century,,,long before Orbx even existed. The new version 2s are a gold standard as such. Much easier on the system than Vector as well. Now, Landclass is another issue. Although it does contain some, it is not the primary focus of UTX. But it is compatible with FTX openLC which does specialize in landclass. You can layer it in to your liking. Use UTX for urban and FTX openLC for vegetation and rural for example. Plenty of help in the UTX forum. Cheers, Clayton
  13. No problem. It's always good to reboot after installing new software anyway. Enjoy ASN and don't panic when the turbulence hits.
  14. No, you don't need to select any weather in settings, ASN will automatically override and take control. You do have a problem if it is not connecting. Is this a network install or running on the same machine? In any case the included manual covers both these scenarios in detail.
  15. Since you have MyTraffic 5.4c and are familiar with it just upgrade to 6. WOAI is a product in FS8 data format.
  16. And until then there's little compelling reason to risk it and plenty to watch out for. http://www.computerworld.com/article/2953307/microsoft-windows/windows-10-is-for-suckers.html
  17. Little airports yes. Grass strips...depends on how remote. But for the most part I'm continually amazed by MyTraffic. Burkhard is a mad scientist when it comes to AI Traffic.
  18. Assuming they have what I need in stock I've had nothing but good experiences at Micro Center. The one time I had a defective part they took it back and gave me a new one on the spot, no questions asked. The sales techs are surprisingly competent as well.
  19. Yes. Just download the Samsung software and clone your C:\ OS to the 850 EVO
  20. Indeed. Same as the best place to locate FSX or any other sim: On a totally, physically, different drive. And if the SSD price is prohibitive for you get an HDD with as big a cache as you can afford.
  21. Good fun here: AirAlaska from TakeFlight Interactive. https://takeflightinteractive.com/ Cheers, Clayton
  22. Like any other group I've ever encountered, be it social, business, athletic, religious, etc., it's always the same. After a while, if you are paying attention, you learn who can help you, who you can help and those ever present individuals who you should avoid. The vast majority of flight sim related sites I participate in are very focused on a particular product group. For the most part they are communicative, helpful and friendly. They are like little cafes that are charming and intimate. That said, there are maybe only 10-15 folks who stand out as reliable on any consistent basis. Then there is Avsim. It's sort of like walking into a big brash bar in a big brash town. You'll get the latest news, maybe you get the drink you ordered made right, maybe you meet a girl or maybe you just get into a fight.
