  1. An no need to overspend on a ROG. Tests show there isn't a big difference between the stock and the OC 4090s.
  2. Yes, I've done this many many times. There is an advantage to it as well if you use the same account. It'll save a digital copy of your license so if you ever need to rebuild that machine all you'll need to do it log in and it'll get digitally activated. I have 3 PC's, 2 Tablets and 1 laptop all done this way under my one microsoft account.
  3. There is a pinned topic here in this forum on how to make sceneries work in v5. You have to use ADE to get the default airport elevation, and then set that as the elevation for the SSJ one.
  4. It 'works' in v5 and v6. You need to adjust its altitude to match the default scenery and then it looks ok minus all the remaining issues it had/has.
  5. Well if you are happy with your current system's performance no need to update is what I'd say. I was on a exact same system as you and I did upgrade, but I was also going from a single screen to 3 4K projectors so I needed the extra horsepower to get to where I wanted. I think there are two schools of thought on updates. School one likes to have the latest and greatest so will update every other, or every generation change to stay up to date. School two, gets a well tuned system configured and will ride that out until the software / simulator enhancements improve to a level that it cannot run smoothly or be compatible with that system. School 1 means lots of money out the door almost yearly. School 2 means you may only need to update every 5 years or so, or never if you are satisfied.
  6. Why even post here then? Glad to see another update.
  7. I don't right now, but if you search for Windows 11 GPU Scheduling there are several articles on the advancement specifically for newer GPU's with larger amounts of memory and graphically intensive applications (MSFS, P3D, etc...) Also thread scheduling, Windows 11 understands the difference between P and E cores where windows 10 just understands clock speeds.
  8. Memory scheduler is a bit more advanced and has some enhancements for graphics cards with larger amounts of memory. Also, Win 10 will be reaching its EOL soon, so why not switch? I would recommend starting from scratch instead of doing an in-place upgrade from 10 to 11.
  9. Two different products. Orbx global isn't mesh. Depending on where you fly the mesh can be very beneficial for elevation fixes. If the areas you fly in look blah then orbx base will give some life to those areas by giving better textures and fixing landclass errors. Both are beneficial depending on your desired outcome.
  10. What are your goals? I usually wait to skip a generation or two when doing hardware updates. As far as your 3090, that is still a great card and with the mods out there to give frame generation on them should last you a while yet. Might also be worth waiting to see if Nvidia changes the power connector on the 5x series cards after all the issues with the new design. Your CPU is 4 generations behind the latest series, and your motherboard is also a couple generations behind the latest. If you WANT to upgrade might look at doing something with your Mobo / Ram / CPU instead of the GPU right now. If you want to stick with Intel, something from the 14000 series you can find some good combos on for that and motherboard. Also DDR5 memory.
  11. With a 40 series gpu why would you need to use the onboard graphics? You ,can connect up to 4 displays. I run 3 4k displays off my 4090 no problem and keep the onboard GPU turned off.
  12. Yeah that'll work. If you are looking to save a little, the ASUS ROG is a bit overkill for the $$$ but otherwise looks good.
  13. DDR5 memory, probably 32 to 64GB at the fastest speeds you can budget for. A minimum of 1000Watt PSU, A good AIO cooler for your CPU, and look at either a WD Black or Samsung Pro M.2 drives for your OS and Other stuff. Everyone has their favorite motherboard manufacturer, but if overclocking isn't your think you can look at like the MAG series from MSI, or the TUF series from ASUS. No need to get an OC version of the 4090 unless you can get a good deal on it. I run 3 4k projectors for my cockpit and going with these should set you up in a good position. The AMD cpu right now is the way to go, and until we know if FS2024 will take utilize multi-threaded processes more you'll be find with AMD.
