  1. I guess the FLT file contains the user aircraft Title statement referring to an aircraft not currently installed. This can happen when you download a mission but you don't have the required aircraft, so FSX uses the default microlight instead (or a similar default aircraft). Cheers - Dai.
  2. Felipi, is the problem with a default mission? If so, which one? By the way, are you sure the mission doesn't load as Free Flight (check mission exit screen). Sorry if you've already checked these basic questions! Cheers - Dai.
  3. Hi eskil The Simcopter IMM mission has a number of errors - POI's not referencing model guids, scenery objects unavailable (well, not in my scenery library anyway!), plus other errors that show up in FSXME. I downloaded another IMM mission - "Canyon Wreck" from FlyAwaySimulations. This showed zero errors in FSXME and could be Saved as per normal - i.e. not as Free Flight. Maybe this is the reason some IMM missions can't be 'Saved'? Cheers - Dai.
  4. Is it O.K. to mention a site which specifically deals with FSX mission building? If so, you'll find help here: http://www.fsxmissionshangar.com Please edit this post if linking to other sites not permitted - thanks. Cheers - Dai.
  5. Here's a video made using Earth Simulations' North West Scotland photo-scenery for FSX. The flight is from Kinlochewe to Torridon over the Beinn Eighe and Liathach mountains between Loch Maree and Loch Torridon: Thanks for watching! Cheers - Dai.
  6. I think Parizio means the (sound) wav does not continue after Pausing and Re-starting FSX in his mission. Cheers - Dai.
  7. When you Exit the mission, do you find yourself in Free Flight? If there's missing scenery objects or an aircraft required by the mision that's missing from your FSX, then the mission won't load properly. Chers - Dai.
  8. This probably isn't a Mission problem, although the 'effect' could be useful, I guess! Most likely it's a conflict between REX and one of your other add-ons (i.e. OrbX). Good Luck! Cheers - Dai.
  9. All missions or just the one? I ask as the Rhino Rescue mission starts with a 'letterbox' screen showing a video introduction. But then, I've not set WideScreen, so maybe that's it? Cheers - Dai.
  10. You mean like this: More info here: http://fsxmissionshangar.com Cheers - Dai.
  11. Like you, I'm stuck with my own voice, so I'd be happy to help. My english is U.K. But I can do a truly terrible Oz accent, if pushed! Cheers - Dai.
  12. You can Tick the "Enable changes in Missions" box before selecting a suitable (B737) mission and then, when the mission starts, select your PMDG model. However, you may find yourself in a cold, dark cockpit, which might be a problem... Dai.
  13. Tiger - you're right about the runway selection with AirportLandingTrigger's. But the Resort Supply mission uses AreaLandingTrigger's, so it's the RectangleArea that's important, not the runway or landing direction, I think. Also, if the Elevation parameter is above zero (AGL or MSL), then you might not get a Trigger on touch-down. FSX is inconsistent with these Triggers, so it's no wonder Players have problems! Cheers - Dai.
  14. Could this be an add-on scenery/mesh problem? The Airport/AreaLandingTrigger's are Elevation sensitive. Mind you, I've just completed this mission with OrbX PNW installed and all went O.K., so it's not that... Dai.
  15. I've had problems here, too - landing with 206 doesn't trigger the AreaLandingTrigger so you don't get to change to the DC-3. However, as Florian says, if you make a 'clean' touchdown, the problem can disappear - but these helicopter touchdown triggers are notorious for not working on some systems but work on others. As Barry says, you can try lifting off to, say 50' AGL and land cleanly again - this may get over the problem. But even when you get the DC-3 started, the Rhino runs amuck - be warned! Cheers - Dai. B)
  16. Dave, when you say "... None of my Original ... Missions have any voice..." do you have a Sound Folder in the mission(s) in wuestion? If you do, can you 'play' any of the indiviual xxx.wav files (using Windows Media Player or similar) and do you hear something? I think that FSX needs the .wav files to be 'playable' for you to hear them. Hope that helps in some way! Cheers - Dai.
  17. Picking this up a bit late, but I've had the same problem with a fresh install of FSX on W7 - FRS file corruption such that the playback is chaotic? I'm afraid the only solution I found that worked was: 1. Exit FSX and re-start, possibly after a re-boot of the W7 OS (yeah, I know!) 2. Fly default Free Flight in FSX and exit - this ensures that FSX starts O.K. 3. Load saved start of flight to be recorded and press Pause 4. Start Flight Recording, fly the flight and terminate recording 5. Replay recording to see if FRS works. It seems that FSX is very sensitive in Flight Recording. I have had to repeat the above sequence 2 or 3 times in order to get an uncorrupted FRS file to use in missions. Nihil illegitimi carborundum sunt! Cheers - Dai.
  18. Here's a link to a video tutorial on Jim Keir's excellent FSX Mission Editor (FSXME): I've been using FSXME for a couple of years and I've made this tutorial to helpwith the rather steep learning curve. Hope you find it useful. Cheers - Dai.
  19. Have you tried Tim Arnot's Plan-G? Go here for more info.I use it most all of the time - it's excellent.Cheers - Dai.
  20. Is this a problem with your rotorcraft's cfg file? If the Mission's .FLT file specifies a Texture name that doesn't correspond exactly to that in your rotorcraft's cfg - because you've added a new paint job, or similar - then the mission engine won't work properly and reverts to 'Free Flight'.Of course, it could be something else, too!Cheers - Dai. :(
  21. Is this LINK any use? Hope so....Cheers - David/Dai (EGFE). :(
  22. Interesting problem this, which I've also come across when porting FS9 models into FSX. Most recently, I've been trying my best to get Aeroplane Heaven's excellent FS9 Lancaster model into my FSX system and, apart from sorting out where the textures for each variation sit best, I'm completely stumped on the prop-blur......O.K. - I've checked the contents of the prop_blur.bmp file and it looks good - i.e. 256 x 256 etc. Used DXTBmp to check out the alpha channel and it, too, looks fine. But nothing shows.....Next attempt - replace the prop-blur texture with another (bmp) that I know works (with another model) in FSX. Nope....Somewhere, in this thread, there's a mention of taking the Dizzie's dds version of prop-blur and just changing the file type to 'bmp'. Tried that, and, well, nope.....So, a big nothing. But, wait a minute - when there is no texture for the prop-blur then you do get a sort of blur, as you can see from this shot:It's nowhere near right, is it? But you do get the impression of propellor movement - albeit in the right light conditions and only against the back-drop of the 'ground' (i.e. not against scenery objects as mentioned earlier in the thread) - so it is better than nothing.....Or is it? I'll leave that up to your better judgement!Lastly, whilst recently getting a very simple auto-gyro model (made up with Gmax) into FSX, I had a bit of trouble with, yep, you've guessed, the rotor prop-blur. I kept getting the same sort of circular blur, as in the screen shot above, but without any colour. I found the problem to be an incorrectly assigned texture, together with an unassigned animation visibility tag. After some head scratching, and help from the FSDeveloper and Free Flight Design forums, the problem was sorted. So, that confirms suspicion that it is the FS9 model that causes the problem and not the texture itself. Well, maybe......!!Hope the above is useful to some-one. Onwards and upwards, eh?!?Cheers - Dai (EGFE). :(
  23. Hi to all as this is my first post here.......Hey, Mad Dog - thanks for spelling it out - really helped setting up the panel.cfg to get Airport Chart working. Have installed the new guage/function into the FSX default C208 - works a treat! It's going to be a great help getting in and out of strange airports - this has been a big problem for me with Cargo Pilot and, more recently, beta testing a new cargo hauling app. Many thanks again.Cheers - David Williams (EGFE).
