PIC007,Its not the 80's three tone livery that you are looking for by any chance is it?If so this one has still got a couple of out standing issues(including a correction of the alpha layer) that I'm not to happy about. Regards,Mark

Pan AM Aircraft Title Font
Chaps,I was wondering if any might be able to point me in the general direction of the font (or something similar) to that used by Pan Am for the aircraft title, similar to this: I'm finding it somewhat difficult to come up with something even passable. As always any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in Advance,Mark SkyKnight

How this does look to you?
Thralni,Looks very sweet. I should have a modified layer some where which corrects some of the problems your talking about(which I might presume is the APU intake door on the left side as well as a few other out standing items); I try and find it and send it to you when I do. Mark BrittainSkyknight

Repaints WIP! (Completed)
Noigraphics,There not bad at all. Just one thing though, you have an APU intake on the left hand side of those 737's. The APU inlet door is located on the right side only. Think I might be able to solve that for you thought. Otherwise they look pretty neat. Regards,Skyknight

Requesting your opinion on a new livery
Skyknight replied to Boeing_Driver's topic in The Paint Shop - The Aircraft Painter's Forum - How ToZinfandel,Hey, thats not a bad start, but you might want to slightly reduce the white area on the fuselage in the following ways: I think you might try raising the cheatline a bit, either to the point where it covers the radome or (off the the top of my head)a point approx. a third of the way up the nose. You could get rid of the black radome, and have cheatline encompass the radome. The rear section is nice, but you could also try 'squashing'/shortening the livery slightly, with the first vertical stripe spaced either half its current distance from the the aft most window. The above are just a couple of random ideas that just sprung to mind as I looked at the aircraft. It always had to make a call on a livery at this early stage though, but this looks promising.Later, :( MarkSkyknight

Douglas Aircraft Font?
DC-9,Sorry I was a little vague and really should have been more specific about the font type. I should have said it is a modification of BankGothic Lt Bold Italic (Western script). There are probably a number of differences although main ones seem to be the elongation of the characters(ex. in the C) as well some of their features( the letters M & E). I have attached a .JPG just as a sample(not a great one mind), just in case you want to give mcwdainow's suggestion a shot, I have also have a similar .PSD ready to go should you require it. I made the comparison using Peter de Groot's picture of the DC-10-30 Prototype(which you have no doubt looked at)over at Airliners.net(http://www.airliners.net/photo/McDonnell-Douglas/McDonnell-Douglas-DC-10-30/0392286/M/ ). As I said its not perfect, but it is near to it as I think I can get without any editing, I might look into editing it in the next week or two, but it will probably take a bit of work. Skyknight Just out of interest is it a DC-9 or a DC-10 you are painting?

Douglas Aircraft Font?
DC-9 I might have to revise my earlier post. I have found a font which seems to match the Company/Prototype criteria(I hope I'm closer this time). The font is Bank Gothic Light(and not the Korataki as I first thought)and should be located in the default font selection that came with Windows XP :-). Hope this is the font you are looking for. If not I'll get back to look around.Skyknight

Douglas Aircraft Font?
>Thanks. The font I'm actually trying to find out is the older>one from the 1960s/70s when it was "Douglas Aircraft Company".>So far, I haven't had much luck. :(DC-9,Sorry to bug you again. I do not mean to ask you a really stupid question, but are you by chance looking for the font used on the prototype DC-10/DC-9 or is it the font used by the company itself? If so there is a font called Korataki, which is very similar, although the Douglas version might be a custom variation on it. but I might be mistaken. I will keep my eyes peeled for a similar version if exists.Skyknight

Douglas Aircraft Font?
DC-9,I'm not really sure what the name of the font used by McDonnell Douglas was, but while searching for a logo myself, I happened to stumble across a thread more or less along the same lines as your own. Somene suggested the following: http://bjones4.com/temp/MD.psdI suppose you might try to contact him, see if he might be able to help you out. Failing that you might want to try: http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/. If I manage to come across anything myself I'll keep my eyes peeled. Skyknight.

Looking for the Federal Express Font
Hey guys,I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. I'm Looking for the font used in the old Federal Express Logo(both in its diagonal and horizontal forms(although the latter would be preferred)which was designed by Richard Runyan in 1973, and was used until 1993? I've seen a couple of aircraft using this font and was thinking about doing one myself. I'm also wondering if anyone knows if the font used in the 'The World on Time' is Futura (I have a suspicion that it is) , and where it or a substitute might be available. Cheers and Thank you very much in advance. Skyknight
