  1. Well it must be blind luck then, because I've landed lots of times in thick fog or torrential rain completely hands off in the TBM
  2. David Hudson reputedly achieved RTSc back in the 90s during his experiments with "Orbitally Rearranged Monatomic Elements" (ORME). Which is probably why the government shut him down!
  3. And also FSFO V5 which will have all of the above plus a fully fledged co-pilot and a built-in RAAS:-
  4. Not sure if I'm missing something, but I can't see any weather effects on the (i.e. Rain) on the windshield or side windows? I have tried in all weather conditions including snow and I get nothing.
  5. Why Microsoft decided to offer another incarnation of MSFS is made clear by a simple observation: "Would you all be happy with an operating system in 2023 called Windows 98 version 2,900,347?". If we live long enough we will see MSFS 2024, 2028, 2032 etc! And the reason is simple, "Perception"!

  7. Survive being the key word.............................
  8. The Updated Magnetic Variation data package provides an updated set of Magdec.bgl files (2023) for FS9, FSX, P3D (all versions) and MSFS. New values have been calculated according to the exact WMM2020 mathematical model at epox 1/1/2023. Replacing the default MAGDEC.BGL file with the one provided will result in a better fit between displayed headings and current data. A test/information program (Sim MagVar Calculator) is also included. Documentation and install instructions are available. You need to update the "magdec.bgl", with the accelerated movement of the magnetic poles I'm surprised it's not done on a weekly basis (I think that's coming). Go here to get the latest MagDec update, and it's worth a donation as this is the only guy doing this work. https://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html

  10. It's not complicated at all, I resisted using AL for a couple of years, but once it was installed and working I wouldn't ever give it up. Just create a folder for the add-ons and point AL at your CF, you can have as many nested folders as you like on whichever drive you like, mine are on an external SSD, give it a go I promise you will not be disappointed.
  11. I don't think it will too long until someone comes up with an AI co-pilot.................................
  12. Okay, take me off the trip to Mars list.............................................................
  13. Touchy old subject ATC. Obviously, the best would be "live" a la Vatsim etc, but the main drawback with any free voluntary service is lack of coverage and this where Pilot2 ATC, Vox, FSHud and ProATC/X/SR come in. It's also where it all seems to quickly fall apart, and by that I mean people's expectations. All the aforementioned baring Vatsim are computer programs and whilst there is a small margin for, shall we say, drift, all of them pack up and go home if we venture too far from the expected inputs. Once you understand this, it's possible to work within the bounds of said program and obtain a certain degree of realism. All the ATC programs I mentioned do have a learning curve which varies from very steep to a gentle bump. My go to is ProATC/SR, and my reasons are as follows. I have been using it since it was released (well over 10 years), I beta tested it. When used within constraints, it will give you accurate SID and STAR, Climb and Descent, Vectors to Final, Diverts and last but not least, Holds. It's also very forgiving if you cut short or ignore vectors to final, and will (in most circumstances) give you clearance to land. It also gives you Live ATC which changes depending on the country you are currently overflying and talks to and directs your AI Air Traffic (don't get too excited when I say directs I mean it's mimicking the in game ATC which is talking to live AI Traffic). However, when all is said and done it is just a computer program and unless you (a) set it up correctly and (b) use it within it's programmed constraints it will disappoint you at every turn, as will any ATC program that you purchase and not use accordingly. Having seen a few demos of the current flavour of the month, Chatgpt AI, I'm longing for that wizard developer who manages to integrate it into an ATC program, now you are talking! No really............................................................
  14. REX Weather Force (for the thunderstorms)
  15. So let me get this straight? They want us to pay again for the sim that we were originally promised? It's starting to look like another Train Sim World!!
