  1. Affirm. EGNT is mentioned as one of the upcoming I.D.S. releases in this thread here: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/117712-aerosoftids-nassau/&do=findComment&comment=794512 Quote: "Hello, as already mentioned couple of times we need to see if the new techniques proove(sic!) themselves on our upcoming releases. There is no news and we will post news as soon as we see results from current releases."
  2. Pls. keep in mind that also a number of very skilled developers either have their products published through Aerosoft or at least sold through the Aerosoft shop. Pls. don't let the good guys suffer just because Aerosoft has been allowing a couple of not so ... fortunate devs to spoil their brand (the Aerosoft brand that is). I wish, though, that Aerosoft will get a handle on their quality management, as this sort of releases doesn't do them any favour.
  3. Lol, just got banned myself over there for two weeks for posting a recommendation to start a conflict resolution via the payment provider (PayPay or CC company). Never mentioned a charge back via a bank, but this is what happened: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/119072-manchester-x-refund/&do=findComment&comment=795790 Me: "Initiate a conflict resolution via your CC company or via PayPal, whoever processed the payment. Sacramento and other I.D.S. customers may also be interested in this: http://www.avsim.com/topic/501802-manchester-airport-uk2000-vs-aerosoft/?p=3551480" Aerosoft staff member: "And this will get you a complete ban from us and most other flight simulation shops right away. Rebooking your money via your bank without a legal reason for it is also called theft and will invoke legal consequences." Well, what actually happens in the case of PayPal conflict resolution is: "As soon as the Buyer files a Claim for PayPal Buyer Protection, PayPal will review the Claim and may ask both Buyer and the Seller to provide additional information to settle the case." From: https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/ua/buyerprotection-full?locale.x=en_DE
  4. I am still wondering what a "full betaphase" is as that is the term used by Aerosoft concerning Manchester ...
  5. IMO, the "trick" is do ignore Aerosoft as a brand and to look at the developers behind them. I.D.S. has released three airports so far (incl. Sacramento), and users have been reporting VAS issues with all of them. The next addon released by Aerosoft may be good or not so good; it will depend on the developer rather than the publisher Aerosoft or their quality control. Just my 2 cents ...
  6. The ERJ package has better performance (in FSX at least) and the cockpit visuals are more appealing. The FMC though is basically the same as in the E-jets, so of considerable depth. I concur with Scott, the ERJs are definitely top of the feelThere Embraer ranking. Try the ERJs, you don't have to know and to work every tiny bit of the FMC. Do the flightplan and the PERF INIT (it can even load native MSFS flightplans), the built-in Call! utility will also check for takeoff and landing speeds inserted. Most of the other data I regard as optional ... ;-)
  7. I bought it for FSX and I like it a lot. Feels pretty much like my personal jet airplane (Single pilot ops, small hull, highly automated). To be aware of: It's lite on systems; you won't have an FMC, for example, no SIDs, no STARs. It uses the default GPS only, but feelThere gave it a totally different "skin". Most systems are modelled strictly from the SDK. It does have a lite version of a VNAV, though. It does have a custom autopilot mode flight level change (true "pitch for speed" with variable, pilot-controlled-thrust) feelThere also modelled basic FADEC functions (switches from TO to Climb, for example) Easy to install into the Steam edition (yeah, you use FS9 currently). It's been on sale multiple times, up to 40% off. (I've also seen it for 9.99 USD on very rare occasions at feelthere.com only) When the Carenado EMB500 came out, I was surprised to see that my lite feelThere rendition was more functional in a couple of aspects (autopilot, takeoff config test). The Carenado VC, of course, is much more impressive. (Talking FSX again here.) If you're interested, I'd say go for it when it's 40% off again. FSX version is included, should you consider a sim change, works in disk and in Steam version.
  8. Someone stated he found out that some of the FSL flightdeck polygons and textures (circuit breakers, for example) require a lot of VAS, the forum he posted in is in German only, unfortunately: http://flightx.net/index.php?thread/90367-fs-labs-a320-ver%C3%B6ffentlicht/&postID=940604#post940604 Having said that: There are a million ways to configure FSX for an enjoyable A320-X experience. I made the Steam edition my "photoscenery sim" and performance is fluid with an acceptable VAS footprint, even with high graphics settings, AI traffic, and AS16 weather.
  9. As mentioned above, you can't use coupons during sales anymore. The new and current rule is, if there's a sale, the coupons won't be accepted. They now work with standard prices only. I had two coupons which expired during their Christmas sale. BTW, over the years I had had a lot more than 21 transactions with PCA US. As long as their system works, you'll be fine. It's the transactions that might not run smoothly which are worrying me ...
  10. Yep, their store system is separate from their ticket system and checking their support center I could easily log in on my 1st attempt. Oliver Maertens
  11. I stopped doing business with the US side of Pcaviator. As long as their highly automated store front and download service works, you'll be fine and enjoy attractive prices, in all other cases chances are, you'll be out on a limb. They never responded to my mails and tickets, neither did they to a number of fellow simmers (as a quick forum search will reveal). Best to claim refund via your CC company. The Australian PCAviator store provides a much, much, *MUCH* more enjoyable experience and is very responsive. So these two stores, sharing the same brand, but run by different individuals, should not be confused. BTW, the website www.MegaSceneryEarth.com belongs to the US side of PCAviator.
  12. According to some calculation based on data publicly available (so not 100% exact), the shortest distance between the 773 and the Mt. Wilson peak was just 0.3 nm (3 sec flying time). Imagine only the slightest change in conditions and we would have had a crash. Source: http://avherald.com/h?article=4a25c5e6&opt=0 3 seconds to impact By justin on Wednesday, Dec 21st 2016 12:08Z
  13. It's a DME and you can switch the source (VOR1/NAV1 or VOR2/NAV2).
  14. ORBX have patched their Lancair and I like it (electronic checklists, a number of situational callouts, instruments quite different from the Realair Legacy). I don't fly their Vans much, but it comes with a maintenance hangar (optional: you can use it but you don't have to).
  15. Of course it doesn't always have to be PayPal: In a number of shops I can buy on account or per direct debit ... ;-) EDIT: Explanation given by JV: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/127178-paypal-restriction-the-reason-why/
  16. PayPal so far have bailed me out from three disputes with vendors of flightsim addons. And ORBX is the only vendor I'm aware of, that doesn't accept PayPal payment (anymore). PayPal is expensive (they add 4% when charging German customers for purchases in AUD) but they also seem to offer a lot of security.
  17. The Vereinigung Cockpit (German pilots' union), almost three years ago, described NAI's business model essentially as an accident waiting to happen. The event at Kristiansand was close, very close. (in German) http://www.airliners.de/vereinigung-cockpit-kritisiert-geschaeftsmodell-von-norwegian/31503 The original press release by VC here (also in German): http://www.vcockpit.de/presse/pressemitteilungen/detailansicht/news/vereinigung-cockpit-kritisiert-die-entscheidung-irlands-norwegian-air-international-eine-dauerhafte.html And the reference to a former accident at Cork, involving similar structures (in English): https://www.eurocockpit.be/stories/20140130/lessons-to-learn-from-the-fatal-cork-airport-accident
  18. I won't pay any money to watch this movie. I'd rather wait for it to appear in free TV. If you'd like to watch a totally different way to tell the "forced water landing story", look out for the YT 58 min clip featuring First Officer Jeff Skiles - Miracle on the Hudson. It gives some insight and it's rather humorous.
  19. I'd like to wish you and your loved ones all the best and thank you for a number of truly outstanding addon planes. (And so and so many flight dynamics supplied to even more of those planes.) If I only had upgraded the Legacy to v2 as I had been pondering a few times ... Thank you again and I am hoping for Carla's full recovery.
  20. MD11 boxes are still being sold around the world (FS9 and FSX) and PMDG of course still support all their MD11 customers. Oliver Maertens
  21. Hi Scott, the Aspen Extended performance is very much OK since the update (current version is 1.1): http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/111394-aspen-flaws/&do=findComment&comment=754891 Make sure you download the FTX Global base patch for KASE from the AS forum as well. (IMO it looks better also with photoscenery, not only with Global): http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/112810-aspen-extended-ftx-global-patch/#comment-759486
  22. No need to disable real-time protection for simming, if you exclude all the sim folders from the scan. By and large flightsim addon developers ask too much from you when it comes to computer security: I have rarely had issues with real-time malware protection (define exclusions) firewalls active (Windows firewall usually asks when an exception is required) User Account Control kept at its highest Level (frequent confirmations of program launches required, though) Real-time scanning of downloads and executables (set your AV software to "always ask and remember the answer") I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials and Avast! for all-around protection. MSE doesn't protect from adware, Avast! does. Avast! also checks your browser addons.
  23. They also state that payware addon airports for regions require the respective region. And that Global payware airports require Global Base as well. Nothing new here, and in terms of visuals and texture blending they are even correct. Having said that, I had had Global airports (freeware and payware) working before I became a Global Base user. Addon airports for regions (payware) may be a different story.
