  1. It's surprising that they are exactly the same. I expected it to be similar, but it really does look to match up perfectly.
  2. It makes for better image quality. Being able to set it up to 120% on my old 1080p monitor was a life saver. Made a significant difference to text being readable or not. Probably not so important on higher resolution monitors.
  3. You'll have no problem on a mix of medium/high and it will still look really good. You may struggle if you want to fly complex airliners at busy airports with lots of traffic. If you fly GA though, might as well turn off traffic and you'll probably get >30fps 95% of the time. Don't be put off by all the peeps here with high end computers. You really don't need it unless you really want Ultra graphics or VR @ >60fps.
  4. Doesn't the sim have a built-in skip to TOD feature? Pretty sure you can skip to any stage of the flight. I personally wouldn't leave my PC cranking all night. Waste of energy.
  5. Yeah, check no AI assists are on. I've seen someone mention this be the cause before, and they were a bit confused as they don't recall ever enabling the assist. I think it was a trim assist.
  6. I can't really tell the difference between clouds @ high and ultra. Which is lucky for me, cus Ultra clouds really tank fps. They definitely look a lot worse @ medium though.
  7. My favourite XSTOL aircraft by far. So well done. SWS planes actually feel like planes. A bargain at this price imo.
  8. Ha, so all these peeps running DX12 are just putting up with the immersion killing bug? I guess it's not the end of the world.
  9. I assume you were monitoring temps and nothing seemed wrong?
  10. You get that when there is no satellite imagery, but I'm not sure that's your issue. Why did you struggle to get a screenshot? That would be very helpful.
  11. Is the bug with ground textures bleeding through fixed on DX12 yet?
  12. Yeah, that might be a little too hands on haha. Bit big for the type of flying I like to do as well. Maybe one day I'll grab it.
  13. And there I was grabbing the AN2 and F13 out of FOMO. Nice to hear.
  14. This is the answer. The confusing thing is that the map still shows you starting at the ramp, but the drop down above the map shows you starting at the active runway. So you just click on the drop down and choose a gate again.
  15. I would love to see Black Square tackle something vintage where engine management is super hands on during flight. The Bonanza is great, but it's also pretty forgiving, which is to be expected of course from a fairly modern GA. To have the same life brought to the cockpit, but with much more hands on engine management, would be very cool. Therefore I think the DC3 (I know there is a free improvement mod, but it's certainly not BS quality) would be a good choice with it still being a default aircraft and all.
  16. Both planes look VERY similar in the cockpit. I guess they were able to re-use a lot of assets between the two. A quick google and the real planes do indeed have very similar cockpits.
  17. As Mace said. Should be even better. I'd argue that their old FSX planes are on par with Blackbird, let alone whatever they can do in MSFS (which judging by their press, is significantly more). Honestly, like I said, it was hard to fly anything but A2A in FSX for GA, once you'd flown one it was hard to go back to other planes. This should hopefully blow us away. It'll be a day one purchase for me, and I pretty much never do that normally - that's how much faith I have.
  18. Excited for this, but also expecting it to be expensive. Probably worth it though, as I found it difficult to fly anything but A2A in FSX. As he says; real = fun.
  19. Yup, I have an entry level i5 and a 2060. Pretty average compared to some of the monsters people in here have bought. And tbh it runs great! Have a mix of settings, from medium to ultra and it never skips a beat. Almost always smooth, and it looks incredible (I honestly struggle to see the difference when I just throw everything on ultra).
  20. Well, I flew it last night. In terms of systems simulation, I would have said they appear to be about the same though the P-40 does have persistent maintenance, which is nice. Modeling is pretty high quality on both and I like how iniBuilds allows you to remove the cowling to see the engine, as well as show baggage and tie downs. FlyingIron seems to have the better textures though, and they are miles ahead in terms of sound quality - it is really night and day on that part, which is a bit of a shame because the sound of warbirds is one of their biggest attractions imo. FlyingIron seem to have captured all the depth and nuances, whereas the P40 sounds a little flat to me, and in startup for example, I can hear where they've faded the startup sound into the running sound - it's a bit meh. But yeah, for the price it was, I'm very happy with it, and no doubt it will continue to improve.
  21. I'm not expecting FlyingIron quality from the get go, but iniBuilds seem competent so I'm sure it'll be good and only get better. Look forward to trying it this evening.
  22. Annoying I have to use yet another install manager, but too good of a deal to pass up. Love Warbirds!
  23. Maybe. Cities in general just seem too dark to me, especially the skyscrapers. True, but Orbx doesn't have everything the marketplace does. Each to their own.
