  1. I noticed this very thing. I flew from Frankfurt to Copenhagen and was quite surprised to see the ground seriously look like FSX out of the box. FSX with the nVidia tweaks looked better than what I saw yesterday. Hoping its just a glitch that will get sorted but it felt like I was just over a very very low rez ortho photo, it killed immersion enough that I ended the flight midway.
  2. You didn't specify which aircraft this is happening in. The Caravan, TBM etc? Oddly enough I noticed this very issue while flying a 737 in X-Plane 11 and the cause was a tiny (like 0.5%) deployment of the spoilers on the right wing and nothing would make them go back down until the landing.
  3. Yes, you own those planes, always. You've just moved them out using the Content Manager thats all. Think of it as moving them into a hangar, out of sight. As @Tektolnes & @liamp51 have said - you can easily reinstall anything from Content Manager, scenery, planes etc.
  4. You have to do that from within the game. This way the removal of the planes is tied to your account and it remembers that. Whereas if you just remove them from the folder the game thinks "Oh these are missing, I'll put them back". Go to the Content Manager to remove Asobo planes you dont want.
  5. If it is A350 then one of the failure items will be coffee spill on the center console = dual engine flameout. Re-tard re-tard I agree, it is fun to watch though 😀 as various people get worked up about various things. The term alone for me is like nails on a chalk board.
  6. Yes the plan I have is to wait one year for Windows 11 to settle down, for (hopefully) chip supplies to go back to a decent level and then get a new gaming PC. The new Intel Alder Lake CPUs are coming out also. I have to get a new machine anyway because this one cannot run WIn 11. I just wanted to share that the minimum spec does not mean PCs specced lower than that cannot run MSFS. Out over the boonies I can get upto 40FPS - and thats with vegetation on ultra, textures on ultra. FSX + ORBX was 8 or 9 FPS for me lol.
  7. Look at the spec of my system in my sig. Its coming up on 14 years old. Guess what - MSFS runs so well on it that I'm constantly amazed. A billion times better than FSX did. Where I was getting single digit FPS on FSX I get 30FPS now with the new game. The only limitation is I cant fly over cities and cannot use the airliners (turns into a slideshow). But otherwise there are no settings that are on "Low" everything is a mix of med-hi-ultra. Its also very stable - the only CTD I had was hardware related. I found out that the game does not like overclocking so I bought the OC down from 3.8 to 3.5Ghz and now its so stable. I would advise if possible that you dedicate a drive just for MSFS and if you like going mod crazy its gonna have to be a big one. There is a clever mod manager that can use symbolic links to the mod folder (which can be anywhere, even on another drive). Dont hesitate, the visuals are amazing. The only thing you'll have to make the call on is where you're gonna buy it from. MS Store or Steam. If you own an XBox Series X then the MS Store make sense as you will get the XBSX version included.
  8. You are correct this will reduce the intensity and vibrance of all colours. Give it a try and if you dont like it you can set to default (there is a button for each filter). Try what @Gerwil said, it is a better approach to target that one colour thats being a pain. That is such a drag, it is one reason I bought the game on Steam. I was hearing a lot about this. There are some other options you can try. The first is that if you have an nVidia card download their GForce Experience app. In there are some filters that are just ReShade. https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/geforce-experience/download/ There is also GShade which is built on ReShade but I do not know if MSFS is on its list. You might have to dig around. I have never used it, just seen it mentioned by others on gaming forums. https://gposers.com/gshade/ Finally check to see if your monitor has a Game Mode. Some Game Modes allow drill down setting where you can play around with color levels. A good idea and better than my suggestion that would affect all colors.
  9. I felt this way too , there are times when MSFS looks just like Flight Sim World to me. MS took some good ideas from that game (parts of the UI, the MAP) but seems they also took the oversaturated bleached feel of it. Not all the time I have to stress its only in some regions of the world where I have to use a filter to reduce the neon highlighter feel of the scenery.
  10. Now thats cool! Do the edges of the buttons light up when pressed to show they are active? Like on a backlit keyboard.
  11. ReShade can help greatly with this. There are many many customizable filters in it. For your situation you'd enable the Colorfulness filter and then drag the slider to the left to bring down the cartoon feel. In my example screenshot of the RS Panel you can see mine is set at 0.50 (the range is 0.0 to 2.0) 0.0 = black & white, 2.0 = max saturation https://reshade.me
  12. Thanks for sharing this, I'll check those airports out later this evening Im playing !
  13. That websites design & layout has a very early 90s feel to it, done deliberately I guess to give an old skool chilled vibe. While having separate zips to let people pick and choose what bits they want is nice a big zip with everything would also be handy I agree! ________________________________ I agree with both these points 👆
  14. I agree with this. I dont think it will affect their sales negatively either and will in fact make people respect them more for being upfront. So the dev could put in their description something along the lines of: Not a a complex "study level" plane Uses resources from the default 747 (FMC & panel displays) Uses resources from the the default A320 (display on panel) Uses resources from the default Citation Longitude (panel display)
  15. Well said. Couldn't agree more, the bolding is mine. Its a huge turn off specially for newbies.
  16. That Embraer flightdeck does look like its out of FS2004, Its like different panel elements were just pasted on there using MS Paint. However these kinds of addons are not going away and they never will. Many gamers (through not fault of their own as they may be n00bs) dont know the inaccuracies mentioned (such as seeing Airbus references on the Embraer screens or 747 data on the 777 screens). They just want to get in and go. For many who utilize the game as a virtual tourist application they just want a nice external model because the jet will mostly be flown from the external cam view. Nothing wrong with any of this, whether the gamer is "study level" wearing full uniform and Captains hat to do 15hr real time flight in a hyper-real A350 or the casual doing loops in a 747 both are playing with virtual planes in their own way and thats where the fun is 😃
  17. It is a powerful console and I cant wait to get one, might get rid of the PS4 as I havent touched that in ages. However I will only get one once I get a 4K TV - thats when MSFS will look amazing! Online multi player on XBSX is gonna be insane fun, flying A320 upside down under bridges and goofing off trying to land the Cub on a helipad etc.
  18. I have an SSD on this old PC but I have installed MSFS on the old school spinner drive and the reason is I just KNOW the game is gonna grow massively in size with future world updates and when I go mod crazy. In fact I plan to get a 4TB spinner just for MSFS. Long load times aren't a big deal for me. Also once in-game I doubt I'll see much difference as confirmed by friends who play other games from their SSDs. The LOAD times are very fast but IN-GAME they cant tell the difference. Also @kaosfere that is a very interesting table and link, thanks for sharing 👍
  19. I use Wifi also without problems, it ranges from 40-50Mbps. Not super fast but does the job. Late at night it jumps up to about 80-100Mbps.
  20. It is much easier to fly the real thing than in the game. One of the big things is that sitting at home you are deprived of feeling G-forces, peripheral vision, the "feel" of the machine in the atmosphere, the control forces etc. With time, effort (and a lot of expense) its possible to get a setup to get closer to the real thing (as you can see in the pic I saw above where you see a yoke, throttle quadrant, rudder pedals etc). Then a lot of time must be spent on the controller sensitivity curves to get the "feel" right. I still struggle with this (I have my real world single engine IFR license) and on short finals I find the GA planes very very twitchy. Things like an ultrawide display or Track IR or VR can all help with immersion. If it is possible for you to do I highly highly recommend you go to your local flying school and purchase an hours flight in a Cessna 150 or similar light GA plane. The instructor will let you handle the controls and you can do turns, steep turns, climbs, descents and finish with maybe 4 or 5 rounds in the pattern so you get a feel for landings and such. It will quite an eye opener for you and the learnt experience will help a little towards setting up that class of plane in the sim. When it comes to airliners for most of us on here its all guesswork. Only a serving or retired A320 driver can tell us what the games AIrbus feels like to them. However on YouTube there is a channel run by a real world A320 pilot and he has posted many tutorials on the A320NX (the mod for the default A320) and he gives high marks to it.
  21. I use my PS4 controller for all my other PC games but have not tried it in MSFS yet, never thought of using a controller for the drone & looking around until I saw your post. Good idea. If you have the Sony console test the controller out in MSFS before buying a new Xbox one.
  22. I might attempt to finally try flying an airliner like the A320 or 787. Right now on my weak old system airliners are off limits because I get very poor performance. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the current build.
  23. I run the game on a 13.8 yr old PC (see my specs). The only thing I have upgraded is the gfx card. None of my settings are on Low. Everything is med-high-ultra. I get 30-40FPS. However this is only over rural areas and only in small GA planes. The Caravan and TBM are my limits. I cannot fly airliners and neither can I fly over large cities, it becomes a slideshow. This is where my system shows its weakness. As others have said a performance enhancement update is also coming end of this month. See the links below that compare your GPU and CPU with mine. What I am getting at is that my ancient system can run the game - so your much more capable system will not have any issues - and you can save money for perhaps a more powerful Window11-ready system in the future. Hope this helps with your decision! Happy flights 😀 Your GPU vs mine https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1070-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB/3609vs3639 Your CPU vs mine https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-920-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4690K/1981vs2432
  24. What the city did to this airport is just 😡 I couldn't believe it when I saw the news footage of a trashed runway and diggers digging X marks all along the runway.
  25. Really enjoyed the livestream. Its so fantastic to see devs actually respond to real end user issues and questions. Now I know how important it is to use the official forums to ask questions because they do check. Jorg, Sebastian and Martial are wizards! 😃 I am most excited about the tree line fix as 99% of my flying is low level GA.
