  2. Love the changes. OK, so I have to ask if your magic can work to accomplish this for the G1000. If, while in the sim, and you load a flight plan, the FIRST time a plan is loaded, both the PFD and MFD get the flight plan. However, the second and subsequent times a flight plan is loaded, only ther PFD gets it. The MFD remains on flight plan #1. Therefore, the flight plan can be navigated, but the map and other stuff on the MFD is worthless. Can your magic "REFRESH the MFD" to read the flight plan the is currently stored in the G1000? This would be huge, because any user of a G1000 aircraft can load in a new flight plan without exiting to the main menu and starting fresh. We could land, load in the next leg, and go. This could be done within the sim using ESC-LOAD, or with a 3rd party loader such as FSUIPC. Actually, using FSUIPC, it could even be done in flight. Would love to know if it's possible. Thanks.
  3. I think it's a great idea, but the chances of getting everyone to research their equipment and post it, then have someone find the commonalities for each bug is quite a difficult task. What might work is if some "inspired" pc genius was able to write an app that could grab data, both from the PC and from the MSFS config files, and then have a questionaire (yes or no) that could then parse statistics and provide data based on the answers. It's quite a task. Perhaps, thats what ASOBO can do and have a program tab where you can indicate being affected by a bug and have the results go directly to them. Just pondering out loud.
  4. So sneak it into the new updated version, and, if something is amiss, sneak it back out and restart. Not a big deal either way.
  5. And for those that do not want to change file variables, but really don't want the excessive pulling on the runway, the easiest way is to go into ASSISTANCE-PILOTING and turn on the 1st selectionm AUTO RUDDER ON TAKEOFF. Then one just flys a straight line down the runway when taking off and after landing.
  6. Bingo...(5 times) I am going to add to that you can also do RNAV approaches very nicely. I know we all tend to think that it has to be autopilot on an approach, but it really doesn't. The LNAV can fly all the RNAV approach fixes to the runway, and as pilot, we simply descend to the published altitude for the fixes. When we are at the missed approach point at the minimum altitude, we either see the runway environment or we don't. We land or execute the miss. And actually on second thought, it is the autopilot that is descending. We as the pilot just set the altitude and descent rate and click a button. There is nothing from the flying standpoint that cannot be done. No, not on autopilot for RNAV, I agree, but the planes are certainly flyable.
  7. I kind of followed your path. I did a few flights in the A320 a couple days ago and was able to get from point A to point B very nicely using the equipment. I still way prefer just flying the C152 for pleasure, but it really wasn't that frustrating to do the airliner.
  8. Maybe that is the issue. I paid $60 and I am one of those that wants to simulate flight. The $60 version simulates flight very nicely. Now, some of the equipment inside some of the planes don't simulate what they are supposed to do very well yet, for instance, the G1000 is not a real good G1000 simulator, but that has nothing to do with the aircraft simulating flight. My primary aircraft is the C152, and it simulates flight beautifully. So does the Cub. So does the C172. So does the TBM. So does the .....!
  9. Yes. You need FSUIPC7, which can be downloaded and is in beta right now for MSFS. Create the flight plan you want in Little Navmap as export it as an FPL file. The use the LOAD function on FSUIPC7 which allows you to navigate to the saved FPL file and load it in. By using FSUIPC7, you don't have to do it from the world map, and you can do it in game. There is a catch. The FIRST time you do it, it works perfectly. Both the PFD and MFD have the flight plan. The second and subsequent times you do it, only the PFD gets the flight plan. The MFD does NOT get it. Therefore, you can navigate the flight plan, but the MFD map will not have the lines and waypoints so you will not be able to visually see the flight plan, but it will execute. This seems to be a bug in MSFS. It's been reported to ZenDesk.
  10. Just a recommendation, instead of DELETING it, just cut and paste it to the desktop to remove it, then follow above instructions. I only say that so that in the event the download and replace doesn't work for whatever reason, you can at least restore back to where you were. Just a safety precaution. Deleting will work too as long as you dont clean the recycle bin. Hope it works. Let us know.
  11. I've never really seen this discussed so I thought I'd mention it. After a flight is started and you are on the ramp or runway, you can still load a flight plan. No, it's not from inside the cockpit but you don't have to go back to the world map and reset everything. If you hit the escape button, you see the same load/save option that is seen on the world map. Problem is, if you try to load, only FLT files show up per the extension filter. But that doesn't stop the PLN files from loading, only showing up. If you type (*.PLN) for the file name and then hit OPEN, you will get your list the flight plans. Load as normal. ESC back to the aircraft and you will see the first leg of the flight plan showing up in the PFD. Here's the bug part. The flight plan doesn't load into the MFD. There is no indication on the map that anything was loaded in. But if you autopilot with the NAV function, the plane will fly the loaded route. You can actually change the flight plan in the air also using the above method, but the plane will immediately start to fly the first leg of the newly loaded route if you didn't turn off the NAV function. So it is nice, and at least it's something, but, it will be much better when it is fixed to 1) Show the PLN files 2) Load the MFD
  12. Just put it in the folder. Great Mod, thank you. Really like dimming the PFD and MFD. I see a place for synthetic vision but I do prefer it off. Question: I also thought that TRACK UP was implemented in the MFD but the notes didn't show that as a feature. Is that still a work in progress?
  13. I'm not sure how one arrives at that conclusion as I don't even think it is possible to define what the flight sim community is. I consider myself a "flight simmer" as I spend countless hours flying around in the C152, C172, C208, TBM930 here on MSFS. On XPlane11 I loved the Cirrus Jet. The only "airliner" I ever enjoyed flying on XPlane was the stock A320NEO, and I enjoyed that because it was so easy to fly. I wanted nothing to do with the ZIBO and cold startups. Honestly, for me, and I say "for me" for a reason, is I could really give a hoot if the planes I fly are exactly like the original. Close is nice, as I don't want the C152 climbing at 3000 feet per minute with an altitude ceiling of 32000 feet. How many folks are out there that are like "me" and just want to have an enjoyable experience to pass some time? I have no idea. I may be the only one, or I may be the majority. Does the "majority" want "study level" aircraft. Again, I don't know. My guess is no, but that could be wrong. And fortunately, those that do want those, already have simulators that provide that experience, so really, MSFS has filled the gap that wasn't there before, a great VFR experience with aircraft that "seem" to operate as one would expect (for the most part) with fixes coming in on a regular basis for those parts that don't. WIll it be nice some day when MSFS fills both needs. Yes it will. But being a month in, I'm good!
  14. I've had this happen countless times, and I've never figured out how to make it stop. Everything becomes unresponsive and I have to use task manager to kill the app. In fact, after I read the post, I went and tried it again and sure enough, the spin of death. It would also happen to me when I used the knob in the cockpit if I held it too long. Since the latest update however, I think they fixed it in the cockpit because it only moves one degree at a time, instead of the accelerated increase as when using Shift Insert/Delete too aggressively. The solution is to just do it VERY SLOWLY. Not really a solution but live and learn.
  15. Is that a certain plane that this happens on? I shut down the C152, C172, C208 all the time and have always stayed put. Never once got yanked. Interesting!
  16. You at least started the post correctly. FOR ME....... That's really all that needs to be said, you could have stopped there. I think you are in the minority on this one.
  17. Thank You! Added to my Chrome bookmarks.:-)
  18. Nice! But, where does one go to find and download these wonderful masterpieces when they are released?
  19. Read this thread on Reddit and it will explain how to get rid of them. https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftFlightSim/comments/ipdrir/i_think_ive_removed_the_tooltips/
  20. I have a feeling that many are forgetting to run the VFRMAP.exe prior to trying to connect to localhost:9000. I remember after I downloaded the files, I followed the instructions and everything worked well. Then one day, I tried the localhost and got the "cannot connect...." message. I figured I was bit by the same bug as the others that couldn't connect. Then I realised the issue. I always run vfrmap.exe first, then localhost:9000, and it has never failed since.
  21. No need to go through any checklist if you start on a runway with all systems running. I fly the C172 pretty much exclusively for hours on end, have never done the checklist, and I have never had a screen go dark. Strange!
  22. So if you just go ahead a click the LOAD button now, you will see your path at the top of the window that pops up. It should be your LOCAL STATE folder. Just drop the flight plans in there. You can always create a shortcut to that folder and put it on your desktop or whereever you wish to make it easier. Or you can create your own specific Flight Plan folder and then drop a shortcut to that the Local State folder. You'll then just go into that Flight Plan folder after you hit the LOAD button. But Local State is the starting point.
  23. It's not a DIRECT load. After making the flight plan, you save it as a PLN file directly into the MSFS2020 flight plan folder, and then simply load it up from the world map page. Pretty easy.
  24. Works great. And it is now in Community folder format so it is just download, extract folder from zip, drop it in community folder, restart, and no more tooltips over the instrumentation. Nice.
  25. I have that problem all the time. Don't know of a work around in the World Editor for THAT issue, so I just now create the flight plan in Little Navmap and load it in.
