Don't ask me why, but I waste far too much time reading this pointless drivel.Mods, do us all a favour and lock down this thread.

:( :( :( mgh, If these addresses were correct, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting someones personal information on the internet without their permission. Is this something that you would like for yourself? Would you like to have you wife and children jeopardized by having your personal home address posted openly on the internet for public viewing? Would that help you to sleep better tonight?I don't see you calling yourself by your real name. You're using "mgh" to hide you identity because you don't want your personal information posted and displayed openly on the internet. (mgh's profile: mgh Member - 2,000+, Age Unknown, Gender Not Set, Location Unknown, Birthday Unknown, Interests Unknown). No Information. Yet you are willing to jeopardize someone else and their family.Even if I knew someone's address I sure wouldn't post it openly on the internet, just out of consideration and concern for their safety. If something would happen to them, I would feel completely responsible.Just because that may be publicly accessible information doesn't mean that you have the right to post it openly on a public forum. It serves no purpose whats-so-ever. Property deeds are publicly accessible information, but I don't think everyone would want all of their personal property information and leans posted on a public forum.
The address are those that Ariane gave when it submitted its Annual Return to Companies House as it is obliged to do by UK law.Ariane Design Flight Simulation Limited is a limited company which means that if it goes bust its owners are not liable for its debts. In return for that priviledge the law requires it to make certain information public, including the names and addresses of its Directors so that the public can know who's in charge of it. It's not optional and there's no question of asking anyone's permission before publishing it. If someone doesn't want that information publicly available then they shouldn't become a Director of a limited company in the UK- it's that simple!

I guess no one read my reply.I say again -- the ONLY time Ariane charges for your reactivation is if you lose the code and are attempting to have them look it up for you, THEN they do the charge basically for having to look up the info for you.
I guess you didn't read Avsim's own website.http://www.arianedesign.com/Store.do?state...amp;category=97Where it offers an FSX ReActivation Ticket for

Gerry Howard

Did I get a nice airplane from Airiane? Yes. Do I have reason to entertain doubts that Ariane would reactivate my airplane if my computer broke? No. Is their website a bad joke? Yes. Is Peter Tishma reading this very post right now and laughing maniacally at me? Seriously, do people really get bothered by imagining this stuff? Anyway, at least what this is all about is out in the open finally. Ariane could change their activation policy tonight and it wouldn't make any difference.
Tim (and Bob)As far as the above quote is concerned, I truly believe you're wrong. If Ariane were to suddenly become truly open and transparent, and address their critics directly about such things as reactivation, lack of support, or whatever, without hiding, and show the 'community' (i.e. their customer base) a little respect and humility, I believe the community would forget their 'former sins' pretty quickly and judge them entirely on their CURRENT products and CURRENT issues alone.Of course, I'm not suggesting that they immediately change all their policies at the request of this community - if they can justify their actions and attitudes, that's fine and in a competitive world they'll either win through or fall, just like any other developer. The difference would be that Ariane would suddenly be on a more even playing field, and all the conjecture would cease as the definitive answers would be 'from the horse's mouth', not from a representative (official or otherwise).Peter Tishma has never openly answered any of the accusations made against him. In a democracy, that is his right but total silence does provoke suspicion and hiding behind personas believing you're getting away with it just makes things worse. The same, even more so, applies to Neville and Fiona who, as Directors, have the overall responsibility for the legal running of the Company. That includes the Distance Selling Rules discussed in this thread. All this 'cloak & dagger' stuff could disappear forever if Ariane wants it to and any company that ignores it's critics does so at it's peril. There will always be good and bad products as well as good and bad policies but any businessman knows that 'even one piece of bad publicity is one too many....'If what is being muted about PMDG's forthcoming 737 is correct, Ariane are about to enter a phase of serious competition regarding their products etc - surely, before the PMDG launch, now would be an excellent window of opportunity for them to sort themselves out, once and for all.(All IMHO)Toni.

Thats about enough wasted space for this thread .Give it a rest. NEXT!!!Ron

The bigger question is............ why has Avsim allowed this thread to continue, I've had posts removed for a lot less than I see here. The bottom line is, buy it or not, but for crying out loud folks, move on and get a life! :(

Yeah, and your motivation for displaying addresses is purely honorable...give me a break!

Chris, they don't want to acknowledge what you are saying here because then they couldn't continue to gossip and spread false rumors. It would take all of their fun away.

That's you right Toni, but since you don't and have never owned any of Ariane's software and have no experience with Ariane whats-so-ever, what you "truly believe" doesn't carry very much weight.

They turn into a window, it would make no difference to those like you. You would just find something else to complain about. You have no intentions of being persuaded to buy their products anyway.

This, what you're calling "cloak and dagger" is not being fed by Ariane's customers, only by people like You and "mgh" (a very mysterious nickname...makes the imagination race) which will never be customers of Ariane, but continue to try to dredge up the old gossip to try to damage a company that has done nothing wrong to you personally.Bob

I agree with you completely. This is all going into the stratosphere and has nothing to do with flight simulation and it is completely off the original subject. Avsim was created to promote the hobby of flight simulation, promote and support developers whether they create freeware or payware and educate flight simmers in aviation as it relates to flight simulation. Alan Bradbury's review has made it very apparent that Ariane Designs is a serious and dedicated developer of the 737 simulation. Those at Ariane love the hobby of flight simulation themselves and have a passion to make the most accurate 737 available anywhere. This conversation should go no further than the quality of the product and service provided by Ariane. In these areas, Ariane has pleased the great majority of their customers and most of us are looking forward anxiously to the release of the X3.Bob

BobYou couldn't be more wrong!Have I ever owned an Ariane product? YES I HAVE.Have I ever had any experience with Ariane? I COULD WRITE A BOOK ON THE SUBJECT.Do I have any intentions of buying their products anyway? NO - SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY SHORT-COMINGS WITH THEIR MODELS FOR ME (No 2D cockpit, navdata problems, and not good value for money IMO).Am I trying to dredge up old gossip? ABSOLUTELY NOT - THE TRUTH IS TRUTH.Do I want to damage the company that's done nothing wrong to me personally? ABSOLUTELY NOT - ARIANE SEEMS QUITE CONTENT TO SELF-HARM, AND YOU BET THEY'VE DONE WRONG THINGS TO ME PERSONALLY!The truth is that I'd really like to see Ariane rebuild the bridges, but I guess you'll never believe my motives....Toni.

I dont mind reading this thread, and as I notice nor do many others. So far I have learnt alot about how companies legaly sell their software etc.... Plus I do think this has alot to do with flight simming......after all this is an expensive flight sim product. I am glad this thread is here rather then being hidden away, seems some here would like that. I nearly forked out my hard earned cash on this. To some of the new readers it would appear that maybe some of the defenders have a vested interest, or maybe its my paranoid mind.......hehe.

Well, there have been people praising the ones on the side of giving Ariane a chance, so I'll return the compliment to Toni, who is also managing to stay level headed about things too, and does also apparently have an Ariane product, so is at least affected by things, or has been in the past. So cheers for staying balanced and fair on the other side of the coin Toni.I'd be interested to hear what the issues were of course, but if you don't feel the desire to air your laundry in public, then I'd entirely understand that too, given the large numbers who are in for the ride on this thread it would not be untoward if you didn't.All the same, I appreciate your honesty.Al
