December 23, 200916 yr I was going to buy a couple more licenses to give to my daughters for this nice little utility I have used a while to store personal data in because it has password protection, etc. I decided to check out if there was any word on how crackable the program is (azzcardfile is its name). So I made the fatal mistake of visiting two sites that commented on cracks for this program. One quick look at the website's home page, and a truly ruthless malware entered and ruined my XP system drive. Cannot run antivirus (says its .exe is infected), can't even open task manager to terminate anything. As a last ditch, I booted to Vista 64 and ran malwarebyte as well as AVG on the XP drive (now non-system) and to no avail. This drive now must be reformatted as there appears to be no resolution. I had heard of this before, but never experienced it. Total hose job! What's really sad is, I had a new SATA II drive that I cloned my XP install on, and it booted fine, then proceeded to die within a few hours! Bad luck this week! The site, I think, was keygens.******nl/crack/97774/ My asterisks inserted . . .Ouch!Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. December 23, 200916 yr Commercial Member The way I understood the OP is that he wasn't looking for license cracks for the program itself but how vulnerable the program is to being compromised. He said he wanted to "Buy" additional licenses. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager

December 23, 200916 yr That right there made it look to me like he was looking for warez.Peter,What he said was that he was storing his credit card info, UID's and PW, etc. in this program, like you can do with Norton's Identity Safe. He wanted to know how vulnerable his program was. I did not interpret that as a desire to find a crack, especially since he stated that he wanted to buy more licenses IF it was safe.

I guess that put me on the alert, sorry about the confusion. Now this whole incident is now failblog worthy. Also, I've edited my posts on the grounds that i'm retracting that statement due to stupidity on my part. December 23, 200916 yr NO credit card, banking nor personal information should be on a computer that is connected to the Internet. Nothing is truly secure and everything is crackable! These types of crimes need to be delt with more harshly ... send the hackers to prison for a while.

There's actually a lot more dangerous stuff out there than most people realize, and cybersecurity is something you shouldn't fool with. The fact is that if you want to be careful, you can't store these anywhere. December 23, 200916 yr Commercial Member Just a quick note that in talking about utilities to protect items, this is a nice free open source one...http://www.keepass.info/ Thanks, Steve Halpern Flight One Software
December 23, 200916 yr The moral in this story is to never ever store your banking details on your computer. I never even give them over the phone!!!!Vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA

If you have access to your Vista drive from your XP installation and vice-versa (Which obviously you do since you stated you accessed that drive) You may have also compromised your Vista disk. Viruses can pass between disks if connected. It may not necessarily show the same symptoms that your XP drive showed right away. Have you tried virus scan on your Vista disk? December 24, 200916 yr May I ask what antivirus program was on your computer when it became compromised?
December 24, 200916 yr He mentions AVG. Registered version?Would never rely on free-ware AV. Using G-Data, even though it "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
December 25, 200916 yr The thing is, these days it doesn't even matter what AV you have. There are plenty of viruses out there that can bypass the best programs and simply impossible to get rid of unless you format. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
